2. Assembly
Attach the socket (5)to the pedestal (6) (fig. C).
Now insert the column (1) from behind into the socket (5) ensu-
ring that the two pins inside the socket move into the corres-
ponding borings of the column. Attach the column to the socket
using the screws and washers as shown in fig. D.
Checkthat the column and pedestalarefirmlyattached.
Remove transport lock from carnera carrier (3).Pivot the camera
carrier (3) to the opposite side of the column (1) to a horizon-
tal position of the guide bars (22) (fig. E). Now attach both the
housings (21)Ofthe guide bar drives to the carriage(2a)(fig. F)
with the screws M5x65. Please make sure that the housings (21)
line up with the mounting area (20) (raised area with a defined
contour).
Please read section 4 "Attaching the camera" to learn how to
adjust the camera carrier.
"RSP 2motiqn" Copy Stand (5710): Hook the base board (4) into
the respective (lower)carriage (2b) as shown in fig. G and attach
it with screwsand washersas shown in fig. H.
Mains adapters (l la, I lb) for the carriages are marked "A" (for
camera carrier carriage) and "B" (for the base board carriage).
Connect the supply cables (9a)and (9b)to the respective sockets
(15)of the mains adapters (11a) and (I lb) (connect A to A and B
to B). Then connect the (identical) cable remote controls (19) to
the sockets (14)of both mains adapters.
"RSP Xtra" Copy Stand (5711): Connect the supply cable (9a)to
the socket (15) of the mains adapter (I I a) and the cable remote
control (19)to the socket (14).
The cable remote control has a magnetic lower surface. Remove
the metal plate with the adhesive strip and attach it to a conveni-
ent place in order to have your remote control within reach.
Move the copy stand to its destined position and align the co-
lumn (l) vertically with the help of the height-adjustable feet (7)
and a spirit level.
3. Initial operation
Checkthat the mainsvoltage correspondsto the operatingvol-
tages given on the type plates of the mains adapters (11a, 11b).
Then connect to the mains.
Switch on the mains adapters with switch (13). The switch will
light up red.
4. Attaching the camera
The camera carrier (3) is suitable for all photographic, professio-
nal,film, video andtelevisioncamerasupto a weightof I Okg (22
lbs.) (RSP motion) resp. 15 kg (33 lbs.) (RSP Xtra).
Fasten the camera by means of the mounting screw to the ca-
mera carrier (3).
The standardfitted B 3/8 mountingscrew (3/8", Germanthread)
can be replaced with the B 1/4 mounting screw included (1/4",
English thread). To do this, undo the screw (26)(e.g. with a coin)
and replace the B 3/8 screw with the B 1/4 screw.
