1. Components
included

In additionthree socketwrenches(19-21 ), a packof spind-
le grease and a mounting bush (22) for cameras with 1/4"
thread
are included.
2. Assembly
Pushthe column(4) frombehindintothe pedestal ( 1)of the
column foot, so that the two pins in the pedestal fit into the
matchingholes in the column.Then put the four fastening
screws (24) together with the respective washers into the
holes provided (Fig. C), and tighten them up with the socket
wrench(21) supplied.Then checkthat the columnand pe-
destal are firmly attached.
Nowconnectthe spiralcable(8) comingfromthe travelling
carriage (35) with the socket (15) on the side of the power
pack (10). The cable remote control (2) is connected to the
socket (14).
3. Start-up
Checkthat the mainsvoltagecorresponds to the operating
voltage given on the type plate on the power pack (10).
Then connect
to the mains.
Turn on the unit with the switch (13). The white field on the
switch is visible when the unit is on.
4. Camera fastening
The cameracarrier (5) is suitablefor all photographic, p ro-
fessional,film,videoandtelevisioncamerasupto a weight
of 15 kg (33 lbs.).
Fastenthe cameraby meansof the mountingbush (6) on
the mounting plate (7) of the camera carrier.
The standard fitted B 3/8 mounting bush (3/8", German
thread)can be replacedwith the B 1/4 mountingbush in-
cluded (1/4", English thread) (22). To do this, undo the scr-
ew (26) (e.g. with a coin) and replace the B 3/8 bush with
the B 1/4 bush.
The mountingscrewcan be fitted in three differentheight
positions (36a, 36b, 36c) on the camera mounting plate.
Undothe lockingscrew(25)to movethe camerasideways.
To adjust and tilt the camera, the camera carrier (5) can be
tilted upwards and downwards by a maximum of 900 in
each direction, and fixed in any position. To do this, undo
the lockingscrews (31) and tighten them after adjusting.
The verticalpositionof the mountingplate(7) in relationto
the baseboardcan be checkedwith the aid of the spirit
level (27) on the camera carrier,and fixed to stop accidental
movement by tightening the fixing screws (32). This is do-
ne with the socket wrench (20).
5. Height adjustment
The height of the camera carrier (5) is power-adjusted by
the cable remote control (2). To move upwards and down-
wards at low speed, press button A (16) or V (18). For high
speed also press button (17).
6. Horizontal
adjustment
Tum the adjusting cranks (30) to set the camera carrier ho-
rizontalfy. You can lock the position with the blocking scr-
ews (29).
7. Maintenance
and care
All the movingpartsare designedto operatewithoutregu-
Jar maintenance.
If it is frequently used, grease the spindle (23) from time to
time with the grease supplied, also when becoming more
noisy. Use only the
Kaiser spindle grease (no.
000561200027).
At lengthy intervals the guide rods for horizontal adjustment
(28) should be coated with a very fine film of vaseline (best
applied with a cloth).
If the travelling carriage (35) shows play, it can be readju-
sted. (Pleaseonly do this if necessary.)Use the following
method. Undo the two front fixing screws (34) on both side
parts of the travelling carriage with the socket wrench (20).
Then tighten up the four adjusting screws (33) on the front
evenly with the socket wrench (19). Make sure you do not
overtighten the adjustingscrews.Thentightenup the fixing
screws (34).
8. Changing fuse
The fuse is in the power pack (10). Before changing it, pull
out the mains plug. After unscrewing the fuse holder (12)
you can replace the fuse. Use only the specified fuse.
