12 Disposal
Notes on environmental and data protection
End users are required to dispose of used electrical and elec-
tronic equipment separately from unsorted municipal waste,
rather than in household waste. The marking with the "crossed-out
trash can" indicates this obligation. Municipal collection points are avail-
able free of charge for the return of the equipment, as are other collec-
tion points for reuse. Distributors of electrical and electronic equipment
and food distributors are obliged to take back used equipment free of
charge under the conditions specified in Section 17 (1) and (2) ElektroG.
