Safety instructions for daily use
Always observe the following safety instructions so that dangerous situations and accidents may be
avoided.
Lifting drums for transport
Lift drums a maximum of 100 mm over the forks for transport.
Setting drums down in high storage locations
Position the drum lifter as close as possible to the storage location.
WARNING
Only lift the drum when it is directly in front of the storage location. Then move the drum lifter very slowly
and carefully to the storage location. Only lower the drum when you are absolutely sure that the drum is
going to be positioned securely, completely on the storage location.

Check the castors before each use.
CAUTION! Dirty castors prevent the conduction of static electricity. Differences in poten-
tial and sparks may be created. Clean dirty castors.

Always apply all the brakes [} 64] if the drum lifter is not going to be moved.

Check the drum lifter for damage before each use.
NOTICE! If damage is present, the lifter may break. Remove the drum lifter from service.
g
Only use the drum lifter when there is no one in front of or near the drum lifter.
g
Always push/pull the drum lifter using both handles.
g
Keep sufficient distance from objects as sparks may be caused if you hit anything (if in any doubt,
only use with a banksman).
g
Do not exceed walking speed (3.6 km/h).
g
Do not cross thresholds, especially when a drum is on board.
g
Avoid sudden changes in direction.
Impact from falling load.
Falling loads can cause severe injuries or death.
Ensure sufficient distance from suspended or lifted loads.
