• To extinguish the unit, stop adding fuel and let the fire die out or sprinkle it with sand.
• Do not use water as this may damage the product.
• If an outer cover is used, fit it only when the fire has been extinguished and the unit has cooled down completely.
• It is possible for the tube to fill with soot, especially at the top. This is more likely to occur if a breeze moves the flame as it
exits the tube. If you wish, but it is not necessary, you can clean the tube by running some water through a hose and using
the cleaning sponge, as long as the product is switched off and completely cool.
• It is not necessary to use detergents or apply pressure. The soot will just settle on the surface and come off very easily.
Always do this with the pipe resting on something soft; grass, a cloth, towel or piece of cardboard. This will reduce the risk
of breaking the pipe. Once the tube is clean, reassemble it back into the heater to dry and ready for the next use.
• After use, the grate (just inside the space where the pellets burn) will need a little cleaning to make sure that the ash does
not clog the holes. This can easily be done with an ash scraper. It is best to do this from the top, from the sides where the
unit is lit, and from the back where the ash accumulates. The small amount of ash can then be cleaned from the side area
with the ash scraper and deposited in the collector, ready for the next use.
• Exceptional circumstance: If your appliance has been smoking excessively for any reason and you have not noticed it, a
tar-like film will form on the inside of the tube. The easiest way to clean it is to spray it with oven cleaner or similar. This
can be done from both ends of the tube to obtain complete coverage. Leave it on for the time indicated, then rinse it off
and use the cleaning sponge as usual. Thoroughly rinse off any residue from both the inside and outside. Observe all in-
structions when using this type of product and ensure that no persons, especially children and pets, have access to the
area where the tube is being cleaned.
• WARNING! To avoid injury and/or property damage, it is vitally important that you clean the heater after each use.
• Please note that you must inspect your appliance before each use. The appliance must be clean and in good working order.
• This appliance may degrade with use over time. It is very important that you replace your heater when it begins to
show signs of deterioration, corrosion or damage. Continued use of a damaged appliance could result in injury or
property damage.
