Troubleshooting

Problem
The
Wöhler HF 550 does not
display any u-value though
the Hammer Probe is con-
nected.
The Measuring Needles are
not fixed.

Possible reason
No valid reading: Error at
the contacts
The union nuts have be-
come loose.
Proper operation of the Wöhler Hammer Probe
requires regular maintenance. Nevertheless the
following rules should be observed:

Solution
Control all contacts, clean
contacts if necessary; es-
pecially the needle tips
must be clean.
Blow on the openings of the
isolator, so that they are
free of dust.
Fix the union nuts with the
grip (see chapter 7.2)
Maintenance work
Control the openings of
the isolator: If neces-
sary, clean them by
blowing or carefully
scratching.
Control the Measuring
Needles. Change them
if they are damaged or
destroyed.
Control the coating of
the Measuring Needles.
Change them if the
coating is damaged.
