Practical tips for the use of the appliance
To get the best performance from your hob, it is essential
follow certain fundamental rules during the cooking proc-
ess and when preparing food.
Use flat-bottomed pans to ensure that they adhere to
the cooking zone perfectly.
Always use pans with a diameter that is large enough
to cover the hotplate fully, so as to guarantee the use of
all the available heat.
Make sure that the bottoms of the cookware is always
dry and clean to guarantee correct adherence and long
life, not only for the cooking zones but also for the
cookware itself.
Avoid using the same cookware that is used on gas
burners. The heat concentration on gas burners may
deform the bottom of the pot; therefore, this will not
allow you to obtain the desired result when used on a
glass ceramic hob.
Never leave a cooking zone on without cookware on it
because as it heats up and rapidly reaches the maxi-
mum level, it could damage the heating elements.
Always keep the hob clean. Before performing any main-
tenance on the hob, ensure that the heating zones are off
and that they have cooled down.
Stainless steel frame (only on some models)
Stainless steel may stain due to water that is very high in
calcium, if it is left in contact with the steel for prolonged
periods of time or due to extremely aggressive cleaning
products (which contain phosphorus). We recommend that
you rinse and dry thoroughly after cleaning the hob. If wa-
ter is spilled on the hob, act rapidly and dry it carefully.

Cleaning and maintenance

Hob maintenance
The glass ceramic hob used as a heating surface is per-
fectly smooth and not porous at all; furthermore, under
normal conditions of use, it resistant to heat shock as well
as mechanical shock. In order to ensure correct preser-
vation of all the hob's properties, we recommend that main-
tenance be carried out as follows:
for ordinary maintenance, all you have to do is wash it
with a wet sponge, then dry it with kitchen towel paper.
If the hob is very dirty, scrub with a product that is
specifically suited to glass ceramic surfaces, rinse and
then dry.
to remove thicker residuals, use a scraper. Act as soon
as possible, without waiting for the appliance to cool
down to prevent the residual from forming a crust. You
can obtain excellent results by using a stainless steel
wool sponge - which is specifically suited to glass ce-
ramic hobs- and which has been soaked in water and
soap.
Once it has been cleaned, the hob may be treated with
a specific product for maintenance and protection: the
invisible film left behind by this product protects the
surface in case there are any leaks during the cooking
process. Remember to carry out these operations when
the appliance is lukewarm or cold.
Also remember to always rinse with clean water and
to dry the hob thoroughly: product residuals could form
crusts the next time you cook.
Important tips
Avoid using abrasive or corrosive detergents, such
as products in spray cans for barbecues and ovens,
stain-removers and anti-rust products, detergents in
powder form and sponges with abrasive surfaces, be-
cause these can all scratch the surface causing last-
ing damage.
Remember to keep any object that could melt away
from the hob, for example plastic objects, sugar and
products with a high sugar content. If any of these
products are spilled on the hob, remove them imme-
diately (while the surface is still hot) with a razor-blade
scraper so as not to damage the surface.
The hob must only be used for cooking. Do not place
any objects on the hob when it is not being used. Do
not use the hob as a resting surface (for cutlery,
cookware, scrubs, etc.) or as a cutting surface.
Aluminium packaging, aluminium film and plastic con-
tainers must never be left on the surfaces that are still
lukewarm or hot.
Do not use steam or high-pressure cleaners to clean
the appliance.
