2.1
Intended use
The products are intended for use in industrial automation. They can be used
for visualisation, monitoring and controlling machines and systems.
The products comply with the IP66 degree of protection (as per IEC 60529)
and are not intended for use in potentially explosive environments.
The products may only be used for the intended applications. Observance of
the documentation is also part of the intended use.
2.2
Personnel
The product must only be installed, put into operation, removed, and main-
tained by qualified electricians who are familiar with national and international
laws, provisions and standards.
2.3
Safety notes
– The device is only intended for the application described in this document.
Any other usage is unauthorised and can lead to accidents or damage to
the device.
– The device must not be modified or converted. Repairs may only be
completed by Weidmüller.
– Store and operate the device only under the stated ambient conditions.
– This device is not suitable for usage in places where children may be
present.
– Ventilation holes are used to circulate air to protect the device against
overheating. Make sure that these holes are not covered.
– Use a moistened cloth for cleaning. Do not use cleaning agents.
– The device may only be opened by qualified technicians.
– The device is intended for supply by a UL-listed DC power supply which is
suitable for use at at least 60 °C and with an output corresponding to PS2
(or LPS) and ES1 (or SELV).
– The power supply must comply with IEC/UL 60950-1 and/or IEC/UL
62368-1. For UV-66-ADV-7..., the output power must be 24 V DC und at
least 0.83 A. 24 V DC and at least 1.2 A applies for all other models.
– The conductor colour of the earth conductor must be green-yellow and it
must have a cross-section of at least 0.3 mm² (AWG 22).
