The position of the control determines the intensity of the displayed wave-
form, except in the READ mode.
The outer control knob enables the electron beam to be focussed for a
well-adjusted spot.
Screwdriver adjustment preset to align the trace with the horizontal grati-
cule lines.
Vertical display-mode controls
Vertical deflection is achieved by the signal connected to the input of
channel A.
The display is switched over from one vertical channel to the other at the
end of every cycle of the time-base signal; i.e. the A and B channels are
displayed on alternate sweeps.
The display is switched over from one vertical channel to the other at a
fixed frequency (~ 500 kHz) so that both A and B channels are dis-
continuously displayed during the same sweep.
Vertical deflection is achieved by the sum of channel A and B.
Vertical deflection is achieved by the signal connected to the input of
channel B.
Continuously-variable control for vertical shift of the display.
2-way push-pull switch, integral with the channel B POSITION control for
inversion of the signal polarity.
12-way switch to select vertical deflection coefficients, ranging from
2 mV/DIV to 10 V/DIV in a 1-2-5 sequence.
Continuously-variable control of the vertical deflection coefficients. In the
CAL position the selected deflection coefficient is calibrated.
Input signal coupling switch
AC/DC depressed
— coupling via a blocking capacitor
AC/DC released
— direct coupling
O depressed
— connection between input circuit and input socket
is interrupted.
The amplifier input is earthed to establish a zero
