INSTRUCTIONS
2 - Tapping (figures 8, 9)
Takethe rod with the suitable tap
• Q- TapM4withfitted extension(forMIOx1and MIOx1.25)
• O- TapM3withfitted extension(forM9x1and M8x1)
• P - Tap M4 with fitted extension (for M8x1—special application);
fit it into the suitable guide (fig. 8).
Carefully fit the rod with the tap into the glow plug compartment,
and screw the threaded guide.
Startmanualtappingusinga tap wrench(fig.9).
Whentapping has been completed, disassemble the
tools and clean the glow plug seat with compressed air
to remove dirt and/or
3 - UNSCREWING
Screw the body with the bearing H onto the glow
plug guide (fig. 10).
Takethe appropriatethreaded extraction rod:
• C - for MIOglow plugs
• D - for M8-M9glow plugs
• E - for M8 glow plugs (specialapplication)
Screw the appropriateextraction nut F (for M8-M9 glow plugs)
or G (for MIOglow plugs)ontothe extractionrod (fig. 11).
Insert the extraction
bearing and screw it onto the tip to be removed. Screw the nut
until it comes into contact with the bearing and then remove
the tip by keeping the extraction rod
NEW GLOW PLUG INSERTION(fig. 13)
BEFORE INSTALLING
• Carefully clean the interior of the seat with an iron brush or a
similar tool. Before installing the new glow plug, make sure that
all metal chips, dirt and fragments are removed from the glow
plug seat and thread.
