OPERATION

a) Switching on/off
• The kitchen thermometer turns itself on and off when you fold the puncture sensor (3) out or
in.
• If you want to perform a temperature measurement using the IR sensor, then press and
hold down the "Scan" (5) button. The kitchen thermometer then switches on by itself.
Once the "Scan" (5) button is released, the kitchen thermometer turns off by itself after
approximately 7 seconds.
b) Performing a measurement using the puncture sensor
• Fold out the puncture sensor (3) by 180°. The kitchen thermometer turns itself on, the
backlight is turned on and "F PRO TEMP" is shown at the bottom of the display.
T he mechanics of the puncture sensor is intentionally a bit stiff, so that you can insert
the metal tip of the puncture sensor optimally in more solid foods.
H owever, do not use force during penetration; otherwise, the sensor may be damaged.
• Pierce the tip of the sensor into the material to be measured. Wait until the temperature
display has stabilised and no longer (or minimally) changes.
I f you press the "Scan" button (5) accidentally, then the kitchen thermometer switches
to the IR measurement. Release the button and wait for about 7 seconds, then the
measurement using the puncture sensor is active again.
A ccidentally pressing the "SET" (7) button will enable the setting mode. Simply keep
pressing the "SET" (7) button until the temperature display for the puncture sensor ap-
pears ("F PRO TEMP" will be shown at the bottom of the display).
• To turn off the kitchen thermometer, fold in the puncture sensor (3) again by 180° into the
corresponding opening of the case (before cleaning the puncture sensor, see "Cleaning and
maintenance" chapter).
c) Measurement using the IR temperature sensor
• Press and hold down the "Scan" (5) button to turn on the kitchen thermometer; the backlight
is activated and "IR TEMP" is shown at the top of the display for the measurement using the
IR temperature sensor.
The white LED (1) is also activated to show you the range for the temperature measure-
ment. Aim the light (and hence the IR temperature sensor) at the surface to be measured.
• Release the "Scan" button (5), the last measured temperature value is shown on the display
remains, and "HOLD" (E) is shown on the display.
After about 7 seconds, the kitchen thermometer turns itself off to save power.
d) Setting mode
• Press and release the "SET" button (7), then the "
alarm flashes.
Press the "Scan" (5) button to increase the temperature value for the upper temperature
alarm and the "
" button (6) to reduce it.
• Press and release the "SET" button (7), then the "
ture alarm and "ON" or "OFF" is displayed.
Turn the upper temperature alarm on ("ON") or off ("OFF") by pressing the "Scan" button (5)
or "
" (6) button.
• Press and release the "SET" button (7), then the "
alarm flashes.
Press the "Scan" (5) button to increase the temperature value for the lower temperature
alarm and the "
" button (6) to reduce it.
• Press and release the "SET" button (7), then the "
ture alarm and "ON" or "OFF" is displayed.
Turn the lower temperature alarm on ("ON") or off ("OFF") by pressing the "Scan" button (5)
or "
" (6) button.
• Press and release the "SET" button (7), then the units for temperature flash ("°C" or "°F").
Press the "Scan" (5) or "
" (6) button to switch between the "°C" (Degrees Celsius) and
"°F" (Degrees Fahrenheit).
• Press the "SET" button (7) again to turn off the kitchen thermometer and the display goes
out.
I f you do not press any button for about 7 seconds, the kitchen thermometer turns off
automatically. Previously made settings are applied here.
e) Temperature alarm
• If the upper temperature alarm is turned on, a beep is sounded when the set temperature is
exceeded and the "
" symbol will flash on the display.

• If the lower temperature alarm is turned on, a beep is sounded when it is fallen below the
set temperature and the "
" symbol will flash on the display.

f) Enabling LED light
The LED light turns on automatically during the measurement process using the IR tempera-
ture sensor so that the area for temperature measurement is marked.
However, you can enable the LED light (1) separately by pressing and releasing the "
button (6). Here, the LC display on the kitchen thermometer is not enabled.
Turn on the LED light (1) again by pressing and releasing the "

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

The product does not require any maintenance apart from occasional replacement of the
battery, and should never be disassembled for any reason.
Clean the product carefully, e.g. with a soft, clean cloth. Do not press too hard on the display;
this can lead not only to scratches but also to the destruction of the display.
For cleaning of the measurement tip, a soft cloth, moistened with water can be used.
D o not use the kitchen thermometer in or under water. Never clean the kitchen
thermometer in a dish washer.
This will destroy the product and void the warranty!
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or any chemicals at all for cleaning; these can lead not
only to discolouration, but can also damage the product.

b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and
rechargeable batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
B atteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with
these symbols to indicate that the disposal of them in the household waste is forbid-
den.
Y ou can return used (rechargeable) batteries free of charge at the official collection
points in your municipality, our stores, or where ever (rechargeable) batteries are
sold!
That way you are fulfilling your statutory obligations and you are contributing to the protection
of the environment.
