3. Mounting the reserve
The reserve container (Tube - IRC) of the SKYLINE RACER integrated under
the seat board is compatible to nearly all rescue systems available on the
market. We recommend the SKYLINE SURVIVE, which is harmonized to this
harness. The rescue chute is integrated in the tube container of the harness,
which is under the seat board, in best position of the centre of gravity. The
connecting line is sewn at the shoulder belt firmly and has to be connected
with the bridle line of the rescue chute with a shackle. A special handle, which
is fixed with a loop to the inner container of the reserve, is delivered with the
harness. Afterwards mount the reserve chute like it is mentioned in the
"Installation guide" (pages 9-12) into the tube container. Close the container
with the 2 Safety Pins, which are on the release handle. The rated break point
against unintentional releasing of the rescue system must be duly installed
and intact!
Note:
When pulling the handle, first of all the rated break point breaks and afterwards the
safety pin is pulled from the loop and opens thereby the locking of the external
container. Then the second end of the handle pulls out the inner container with rescue
system. Only in this order a safe opening of the emergency parachute is ensured.
Please ensure that the rated break point is intact and is duly attached. The rated break
point has to be controlled before each flight to prevent an unintentional opening of the
reserve system (e.g. when starting). It is warned expressly of the use of unsuitable and
unauthorized rated break point. rated break points are supplied and/or changed by
SKYLINE. In the case of use of unauthorized rated break point. The certification expires!
Instead of the thread, you can use rubber bands for keeping the pins in position (rubber
bands in shipment)
To prevent an inadvertent opening, it must be ensured that the loop is placed
approximately in the centre of the safety pin and holds the safety pin tight. The handle
must be attached to the Velcro of the harness that there is space and that the safety pin
is not pulled out of the loop.
After each packing a trial-release must be accomplished. The force you
need in case of activating must be around 5daN.
Attention
After releasing the reserve, the bridle line will tare open the zipper on the right
hand side. This zipper can be closed with the slider which is located in a
pocket on the shoulder part of the harness (pocket is close to the bridle line).
