Before commissioning
After unpacking the device, check it for completeness and possible transport damage
to avoid hazards. If in doubt, do not use it, but contact our customer service. The
service address can be found at the end of this manual.
Your device is in packaging to protect it from damage during transport.
Carefully remove the device from its sales packaging.
Remove all packaging parts.
Clean the device and all accessories from packaging dust residues, according to the
information in the "Maintenance" chapter.
Commissioning
Before connecting the power plug, check the device and especially the cable for damage. The
device may only be operated with a faultless mains cable.
Plug in the power cord and turn the unit on with the on/off switch.
CAUTION: Always allow the unit to run for at least 35 minutes before turning it off and never
turn the unit off and on continuously. There would be a risk of compressor damage.
After switching off the Comedes ITR 90, let it stand for at least 3 minutes without moving the
unit, so that the water in the drip tray can drain off completely.
The higher the humidity in a room and the higher the temperature in it, the better the
Comedes ITR 90 can dehumidify the air. Therefore, the compressor will generate heat and thus
warm the air in the room. This is quite normal and need not worry you.
Note: Before using the device for the first time, we recommend that you operate it with the
window open for 5-10 minutes to remove any residues that may be present due to production.
Any odor that may occur is normal and disappears after a short time. This is not a malfunction
of the unit. Ensure sufficient ventilation.
On / Off switch:
Press the On / Off switch to turn the unit on; the dehumidifier starts in continuous operation
and the current room humidity is shown on the display.
Press the On / Off switch again to switch the unit off. The compressor switches off immediately
and the fan switches off with a delay of 1 minute.
In standby, "- -" is shown on the display.
Automatic mode
The device is equipped with a modern hygrostat (humidity controller) and switches off
automatically after reaching the desired humidity. Here, first the compressor and 60 seconds
later the fan switches off. If the humidity in the room rises again, the Comedes ITR 90
automatically switches on again.
In automatic mode, values from 20% to 90% can be set.
The default setting in automatic mode is a target humidity of 50%.
If the "CNT" LED does not light up, the device is in automatic mode and the desired target
humidity can be set by repeatedly pressing the plus or minus key, in 5% steps.
The switching hysteresis is 3% RH.
