MAKING THE CONNECTIONS
Connecting the Bars and the Controller

Interconnect the bars with standard network cables. You will find markings next to the RJ45 jacks
indicating input and output. Always connect one output to the input of the next unit until all units are
connected.

Up to 160 pixels can be connected in series to each of the controller's outputs. This corresponds to
five 1-meter bars or ten 0.5-meter bars. You may also combine both models. The maximum cable
length may not exceed 50 meters.

Connect each first bar in the chain to the controller's data outputs 1 to 4 using network cables
Note: Only use patch cables (pins 1:1) for your cabling as the bars are supplied with power via this
connection. Crossover cables are not suitable due to their pin configuration. The RJ45 connectors on
the devices may be irreparably damaged.
Connection to the Mains
The controller uses an auto-range power supply that accepts input voltages between 100 und 240 volts and
allows for powering further devices.

Connect the device to the mains with the power plug.

The power output allows for power supply of further devices, e.g. further controllers. To interconnect
several devices, connect the output jack to the input jack of the next unit until all units are connected.
Matching power cables are available as accessory. A maximum of 8 units can be linked.
Note: Do not connect the unit to the mains voltage via a dimmer.
DMX512 Control
The controller is equipped with 3-pin XLR connectors for DMX connection. The pin configuration is printed on
the unit.

Connect the output of your DMX controller to the DMX input DMX IN with a DMX cable.

Connect the DMX output DMX OUT of the controller to the DMX input of the next unit in the chain.
Always connect one output to the input of the next unit until all units are connected.

At the last unit, the DMX cable has to be terminated. Plug the terminator with a 120 Ω resistor between
Signal (–) and Signal (+) in the DMX output of the last unit.

If the cable length exceeds 300 m or the number of DMX devices is greater than 32, it is recommended
to insert a DMX level amplifier to ensure proper data transmission.
