• Do not use the device in rooms containing easily fl ammable
dust or toxic and explosive vapours.
• Do not operate the device in very moist environment or in the
vicinity of fl ammable material.
• Immediately after ironing, set down the device, which is still hot,
at a minimum distance of 15 cm from walls, furniture and other
objects.
• For your own safety, always check the device for damages prior
to using it. Only use the device if the device, mains cord and the
plug do not exhibit any damages!
• In the event of damages/malfunctions, immediately deactivate
the device.
• Do not make any modifi cations to the device. Also do not re-
place the mains cord yourself. Only have the device, adapter,
cable and plug repaired by a qualifi ed workshop. Contact cus-
tomer service if necessary. Improper repairs could pose serious
risks for the user.
• Attention! Fire damage! Never iron one area for an excessive
amount of time. Never leave the hot soleplate on the fabric or
another heat-sensitive surface!
Avoiding damage to materials, property and the device
• Make sure that the mains cord does not get pinched, kinked or
laid over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot
surfaces.
• Only iron on a stable, level, heat and moisture resistant base.
We recommend to use a commercially-available ironing board.
• Do not iron on bases made of glass or plastic.
• Always work with suffi cient lighting.
• Never exceed the maximum fi ll level (observe the MAX mark on
the water tank!). Use tap water to fi ll the device. Distilled water
may affect the proper functioning of the built-in water scale fi lter.
• Never fi ll the device with cleaners, decalcifi ers or other chemical
additives. They may destroy the device and as such, the safe
operation of the device can no longer be assured.
