7 Performing a measurement

This section describes the typical procedure for performing a measurement. The procedure can
roughly be divided into three steps:

7.1 Creating/Selecting a user

If the RIDA QUICK SCAN II is switched on in its brand-new state, a user can first be created. This
is done — just as when creating an additional user — in the main menu by selecting "Setup" -
"Device setup" - "User management" and then selecting the "Plus (+)" symbol at the top right hand
corner of the selection screen. It is also possible to continue operation without creating a user by
tapping the button "No User".
If users have already been created on the RIDA
displayed after the system has started. Here too, operation can be continued without selecting a
user by tapping the "No User" button.

7.2 Reading in lots and methods

As a particular method is associated with each test, the corresponding parameters and the
associated lot information for the test kit are read in from the main menu via "Management" – "Lot /
Method" and the following selection of the input device (RFID reader, barcode scanner or USB flash
drive). Method´s parameters of a certain test only have to be read once, unless there is no
notification of a method change in the test kit.
Before reading in the lot information from a barcode of a new lot the previous lot should be
erased in the sub-menu "Delete Lot / Method".

If the reading procedure is initiated although the reading device is not
connected to the RIDA
selected, the procedure aborts after a few seconds with the message "Data
Reading Error".
You can return to the previous menu with "Back".
