Danger to life
General
The rope serves to secure persons in areas with a risk of fall. It
must only be used by persons in a suitable state of health and
trained for its secure handling and having the necessary knowledge.
Despite proper use of the equipment, climbing and mountaineering
often bear non-foreseeable risks and dangers. Accidents can never
be excluded. The responsibility and the risk are borne by the user.
To be able to rescue the victim in case of a fall or other accidents
as quickly as possible, an emergency plan must exist, which
considers rescue measures for any possible emergencies.
Before use
The user should be individually provided with the equipment. Prior
to each use, the user must make sure of the fail-safe condition of
the personal protective equipment and its full functionality. This
inspection prior to use may only be omitted, if the device is part of
emergency equipment and was checked by an expert in advance
and packaged in a sealed container. Upon checking, in particular
the harness straps and ropes have to be checked for tears or cuts,
as well as the metal and plastic parts for deformation. If in doubt in
regards to the proper condition of the equipment, withdraw it from
use immediately.
Intended use
The rope must only be used with tested and approved components
(CE symbol). Use carabiners certified to EN 12275 or EN 362 and
belay devices and descenders approved to EN 15151-1 or EN
15151-2. When choosing the belay device, make sure that the
approved rope diameter of the device is compatible with the
diameter of the rope. The use of the dynamic rope is admissible:
- for abseiling
- for belaying while climbing (lead climber and follower, top rope
climbing)
ATTENTION: The fall distance is significantly increased due to rope
elongation. Observe the necessary minimum fall height!
Single ropes offer sufficient safety when used as a single strand.
Half-ropes only offer sufficient safety arresting a fall when used as
double or twin ropes.
Twin ropes offer sufficient safety when arresting a fall when used in
parallel only. This also applies to belaying the second climber.
