1. Place the Sara Plus lift nearby.
2. Apply the brakes on the wheelchair.
3. Lean the patient forward and place the sling around
the patient's lower back. (See Fig. 7 )
4. Position the bottom of the sling, aligned
horizontally, about five centimetres (two inches)
above the patient's waistline.
EN
5. Make sure that the:
sling attachment points are forward of the body
and have enough reach to attach to the spreader
bar,
patients arms are outside of the sling,
support belt is positioned loosely around the
patient's body,
support belt is not twisted or trapped behind the
patient's back,
support belt fits tightly but comfortable for the
patient.
6. Fasten the support belt securely by pressing the
buckles or hook and loop together. The strap should
be tight but comfortable for the patient. (See Fig. 8 )
WARNING
To avoid injury to the patient, pay close
attention when lowering or adjusting the
spreader bar.
Position the Sara Plus lift in front of the patient with
its protective pad just below the patient's knees. Open
up the chassis legs, if needed. See the Sara Plus IFU.
7. Apply the brakes on the Sara Plus.
8. Place the patient's feet on the Sara Plus foot
support.
9. Lower the Sara Plus Arc-Rest as low as possible,
allowing for obstructions e.g chair arms. See the
Sara Plus IFU.

10. Find the attachment loops on the side of the sling
and attach each cord to the loop across from it.
The cords shall not cross each other. (See Fig. 9 )
Sara Plus disposable sling: before the transfer of
the patient, make sure to use the relevant pair of
loop attachment in accordance with the patients
position/distance to the lift. It's recommended to
use either the innermost or the outermost pair.
WARNING
To avoid the patient from falling, make sure
that the sling attachments are attached
securely before and during the lifting
process.
11. Once the cords are attached, pull and lock them in
the retaining cleats (A) on the lift. (See Fig. 10 )
12. Pull the cords so that any slack is taken up by each
cord and the back section supports the patient
comfortably and securely. (See Fig. 11 )
13. Ask the patient to hold on to the hand grips with
their arms resting on the Sara Plus Arc-Rest. See
the Sara Plus IFU. If the patient is too far from
the hand grips, adjust the patient's position by
choosing relevant loop combination, see step 11.
14. Slightly lift the patient up to create some tension.
See the Sara Plus IFU.
15. Make sure the sling is attached correctly and the
cords are locked. If an adjustment is needed, lower
the patient and make sure that the weight of the
patient is taken up by the receiving surface before
removing the clip/cord.
16. Ask the patient to assist during the lifting exercise.
