Philips IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub Instructions for Use
These Instructions for Use are for clinical professionals using the IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub in a clinical setting.
Warning
Do not operate the IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub or EC5 ID Module if it is wet due to spills, condensation, or any other reason.
Contact service if the IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub or EC5 ID Module becomes wet.
Caution
•
U.S. Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a Physician.
•
Connect only local regulatory compliant devices to the IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub.
•
If more than one of the IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub ports do not appear to be functioning properly, do not use the IntelliBridge
EC40/80 Hub until it has been repaired or replaced by qualified repair personnel.
•
Keep the IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub, and the IntelliBridge EC5 ID Module and its associated cabling clean.
•
Do not operate the IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub if it appears to have been dropped or damaged.
•
Do not connect the IntelliBridge EC5 ID Module to anything other than the IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub and the patient-care device
for which it is intended.
•
Connect the power-line cord to a grounded hospital outlet only. The cord must be connected to the same electrical circuit as other
equipment used with the patient.
•
Do not connect items that are not specified as part of the IntelliBridge System.
•
IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hubs and all medical devices in a hospital environment must be mounted with their connectors at least
38 cm (15 inches) from the floor.
•
Always remove power from the IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub before cleaning. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
•
The IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub is not suitable for use in the presence of a flammable anesthetic mixture with air or nitrous oxide.
•
Manual connections and disconnections to the IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub must only be made using the safe connector; all other
connectors requiring a tool must remain attached when a patient is present.

Intended Purpose
The IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub is intended to transfer medical device data from one format to another according to preset
specifications. It performs data transfer without controlling or altering the function or parameters of any connected medical devices.
The IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub is not intended to be used in connection with active patient monitoring.
The IntelliBridge EC40/80 Hub is intended for use in professional healthcare facilities by trained healthcare professionals. It is not
intended for home use.
