d) Setting up a communication channel
After inserting the batteries, the weather station starts searching for the signal from the outdoor
sensor; the received channel will be displayed as an Arabic figure. The sensor channel search
can take up to 3 minutes; do not move the weather station and the outdoor sensor during this time;
do not press any button. To receive the signal of an outdoor sensor, keep the DOWN button (16)
pressed until the display starts blinking.
The outdoor sensor shows the temperature, humidity and number of active communication
channels directly on an built-in LCD.
Set up a communication channel for a transmitter using the CH button on the underside
of the battery cover on the rear side of the sensor. The channel being used appears as
a figure in the LCD of the transmitter. One weather station can receive data from a maximum of
three outdoor sensors of the same type, with each of them transmitting on a different channel [CH 1
CH 2 CH 3] to the same base station. Buy up to two extra sensors if you wish to measure weather
data at several locations.
• Press the CHANNEL (15) button on the rear side of the weather station to display data from the
connected sensor(s). The number of the communication channel used by an outdoor sensor is
displayed in the symbol
which is located in the left upper area of the outdoor temperature
display section. The associated data with this outdoor sensor is displayed to the right of this
symbol.
Please note that the weather forecast is not displayed accurately in all cases.
e) DCF
Once the outdoor sensors have been detected, the weather station starts searching for the DCF
signal. During the DCF signal search, the parabolic antenna symbol flashes
intervals. The strength of the received DCF signal is reflected in the number of displayed radio
waves (none to three).
Do not move the weather station during this search, and do not press any button. If,
after about 8 minutes, the weather station still does not show the current time, start a
new search attempt.
1. Keep the UP button (17) pressed.
2. Press the UP button again to switch off the signal reception.
Setting
Basic settings are feasible in the Setting mode. The time and date can be set manually if no DCF
signal is available. The manual setting mode is not available while the weather station is searching
for the DCF signal.
a) Data setting
1. Keep the SET button (18) pressed till the year digits flash.
2. Press the UP button or the DOWN button to change a setting.
3. Press the SET button to confirm a setting. The next setting flashes.
The following data can be set in the given sequence:
Year / Month / Day / Language / Time zone / 12/24h Mode / Time (hours/minutes)
The year never appears automatically in the display. To see the year, keep the SET
button pressed until the year flashes visibly.
4. To reset to the factory settings, press the Reset button on the rear side of the weather station
with a sharp pencil or similar tool.
b) Selecting the temperature unit
1. Press the DOWN button to change the unit of measurement of the temperature display. Celsius
or Fahrenheit is possible (°C, °F).
Operation
a) Back-lighting of the display
1. Press the SNOOZE / LIGHT button (20) to light up the display.
b) Displaying and setting the wake-up / alarm signal
1. Press the ALARM button (14) to display the current wake-up time; press again to switch back
to normal time display.
2. Press the SET button to activate or deactivate the wake-up alarm.
3. To set the wake-up time, keep the ALARM button pressed until the wake-up hour digits flash in
the LCD.
4. Set the desired hour of the wake-up time with the UP or DOWN button . Confirm the setting by
pressing the ALARM button.
5. The minute digits flash; set the desired wake-time minutes with the UP or DOWN button. Confirm
the setting by pressing the ALARM button . Press the ALARM button once again to return to
the current time display. The wake-up alarm symbol
set and active.
c) Ending the wake-up or alarm signal, snooze mode
If the wake-up signal is triggered at the set time, the wake-up alarm symbol flashes
of the weather station.
1. Press the SNOOZE / LIGHT (20) or SNOOZE button (19) to interrupt the alarm for 5 minutes. This
can be repeated up to five times.
2. Press any other button to end the wake-up signal.
d) Stored Max-Min values
• Pressing the UP button shows the stored maximum values for temperature and humidity,
pressing twice shows the minimum values, three times switches back to the normal display.
• Keep the UP button pressed during the time the display is in Max or Min mode. All stored values
will be deleted and the display is reset to current values.

Troubleshooting

With this weather station, you have acquired a product that is built according to state-of-the-art
technology and is safe to operate. Even then, problems and malfunctions can occur. Therefore, we
would like to describe here how you could remedy possible malfunctions.
No reception of signal from the outdoor sensor
• The distance between the weather station and the outdoor sensor is too large. Change the
location of the weather station or outdoor sensor.
at one-second
shows that the wake-up time is now
in the LCD
• Objects or shielding materials (metallised insulating glass windows, steel reinforced concrete
etc.) are obstructing the reception. The weather station is located too close to other electronic
devices (television set, computer). Change the location of the weather station or outdoor sensor.
• The batteries in the outdoor sensor are weak or empty. Insert new batteries into the outdoor
sensor on a trial basis.
• The safety code of the outdoor sensor and that of the weather station do not match. Remove the
batteries from the weather station and the outdoor sensor.
• Very low outdoor temperatures (under -20 °C) reduce the performance of batteries and
particularly rechargeable batteries.
• Another transmitter on the same or close frequency interferes with the radio signal of the
outdoor sensor. Reducing the distance between the weather station and the outdoor sensor
may help.
No DCF reception
• Out of range of the DCF signal.
• The weather station is placed near other electronic devices or near electrical conductors or
metal parts. Steel reinforced concrete buildings, metal coated insulated glass windows or
placing in a cellar also prevent good reception of DCF signals.
• DCF reception is the best at night since there are least disturbances from electronic devices at
that time (e.g. television sets or computers are switched off).

Maintenance and cleaning

• The product does not require maintenance except for occasional cleaning. For cleaning, use a
soft, anti-static and lint-free cloth.
• Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaning agents.
• Do not immerse the product in water.
Declaration of Conformity (DOC)
We, Conrad Electronic SE, Klaus-Conrad-Straße 1, D-92240 Hirschau, hereby declare that this
product conforms to the fundamental requirements and the other relevant regulations of the
directive 1999/5/EC.

Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household
waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory
regulations.
Remove any inserted (rechargeable) batteries and dispose of them separately from
the product.
b) (Rechargeable) batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/
rechargeable batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Contaminated (rechargeable) batteries are labelled with this symbol to indicate that
disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals
involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (name on (rechargeable)
batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
Used (rechargeable) batteries can be returned to collection points in your
municipality, our stores or wherever (rechargeable) batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the
environment.
