Parts included:
1 x Oil Cooler Guard
2 x Cable tie 290mm
Installation:
1) Remove the side covers of your R1200GS. You will find
information on your owners manual. Rear attachment
are two quarter-turn fasteners with D-ring, low front one
quarter-turn plastic and front top one is just a pop-out pin in rubber hole. Make sure to study
the attachments before pulling them out and damaging them.
2) Remove the "beak" of your R1200GS by removing the three torx 25 screws on both sides
(pic. 1). Next step is to loosen the small black plastic cover that goes accross the cocpit
under the gauges to the sides of the beak. Carefully pop them up where it attaches to the
beak on both sides. The attachment is marked "Rastnasen" on pic. 1.
Now you can remove the beak by pulling it straight out towards the front.
3) Loosen the oilcooler on the two attachment points and turn it downwards a bit to gain
better access.
4) Now you can put the Oil Cooler Guard over the oil cooler and fasten it on the back side
with the supplied cable ties as shown on pic. 2+3.
Now reinstall the oilcooler bolts to BMW torques (8Nm), the beak (2Nm) and the side covers.
