Commission the server operating
system
1 Log into the Windows server
with the administrator access
data issued by you during instal-
lation (Siedle standard password:
SiedleAccessMain2015).
2 The desktop of the Windows
server is displayed and the server
manager is automatically accessed
after a short delay.
3 Click on the yellow folder
icon in the Windows taskbar (file
explorer).
4 The page This PC opens up.
5 In the Devices and Drives... area
open the Windows drive used (e.g.
Windows (C:)) by double-clicking it.
6 Right-click on the Server2012_
Einstellungen.ps1 file.
7 A context menu opens up.
8 Select the option
Run with PowerShell.
9 The page Administrator:
Windows PowerShell opens up.
10 Confirm the Execution Policy
Change prompt with y for yes and
press the Enter button to confirm.
11 For Enter serial number of PC
enter the six-digit serial number of
the access server and press the Enter
button to confirm.
12 The script is now run and config-
ures the server operating system.
13 When the message Restart
server with return: appears, press
the Enter button to confirm.
14 The system restarts.
Note
The script carries out the following
configuration steps:
• Assigns the IP address for
the access network adapter
(IP: 192.168.1.1, subnet mask:
255.255.255.0, no gateway and
DNS entries!)
• Names both network adapters
(Access for the connected network
adapter and External for the net-
work adapter that is not connected)
• Sets the password validity to
never expires

• Changes the PC/hostname
according to the input Access-
[serial number] (e.g. Access-
123456)
• A 30-day test licence is created so
that the access server services can
be started
Important!
• Use the identical (static) network
settings as in the previous server in
accordance with the previous docu-
mentation.
• Optional settings for
Windows Update are not changed
by the script.
• The server operating system still
needs to be activated. This can be
done via the Internet or by (phone).
• For customer-specific adaptations
to the server configuration carried
out by the script, you can find help
in the Commissioning instruction
Access Server... V. 3.2 or above in
the Changing the server configu-
ration chapter.
15 Log into the Windows server
with the administrator access

16 The desktop of the Windows
server is displayed and the server
manager is automatically accessed
after a short delay.
17 Now work in the opened Server
Manager.
18 Click in the Navigation menu on
Local Server to be allowed to carry
out settings.
19 The Properties menu is dis-
played.
20 To the right of Product ID, click
on Not activated to activate the
server operating system via the
Internet.
Note
Telephone activation can no longer
be accessed via the menu and must
be manually called up using the
command line:
• Press the Windows key + R
• The Run window opens up
• Under Open: enter the command
cmd and press the Enter button to
confirm
• The Windows input prompt opens
up
• Enter the command slui 4 and
press the Enter button to confirm
21 Carry out the necessary activa-
tion steps according to the Windows
context menu.
22 Optionally in accordance with
customer agreement: Adjust the
settings for the Windows Update
in accordance with the previous
documentation.
23 Click on the right of the
Windows Update field on Not
Configured.
24 The Windows Update window
opens up.
25 Click on Let me choose my
settings at the bottom of the right-
hand area.
26 The Change Settings window
opens up.
27 Carry out the settings as agreed
with the customer.
28 Confirm your input with OK in
order to adopt the input and close
the window.
29 Optionally in accordance
with customer agreement:Click
on Check for Updates in order to
update the server operating system.
Note
The duration of the system update
depends on the volume of the pro-
vided update.
30 Close the Windows Update
window.
31 Now work in the opened Server
Manager.
On the right of the Time zone field,
check the displayed time zone and
carry out any necessary changes to
the date, time and time zone. Adopt
changes by clicking OK.
32 Close the server manager.
33 The server operating system is
now set up ready. Any configura-
tion changes above and beyond this
must be executed by the customer's
own IT expert.
