Conditions for a system
upgrade to V. 3.2...
• Ready-to-run Access server S or M
up to Access system version 2.3
• The network connection at
the Access network terminal must
be active during the upgrade (if
applicable with its own separate
switch). An Internet connection
is only required for the Microsoft
activation and the operating system
update.
• Upgrade package ASU 670-03 S/M
is available.
• Monitor, keyboard and mouse
connected to the Access server
• If applicable commissioning
instructions Access-Server V. 3.2...
for network-specific settings
• Commissioning computer (e.g.
laptop) with network connection to
the Access server in order to carry
out a configuration backup and
restore process (where applicable
with a separate switch, if no external
hardware (e.g. your laptop) may be
connected to the customer network.
Important!
During the system upgrade, the
server operating system with precon-
figured network settings is installed
as the DHCP and NTP server.
If the customer/operator/end user
uses their own DHCP/DNS server in
the network, they will have to adjust
the network configuration accord-
ingly after the system upgrade.
Further-reaching information is avail-
able in the commissioning instruc-
tions for Access server V. 3.2.

Recommended procedure –
system upgrade
1 Checking the scope of supply for
completeness
2 Clarify/agree the following points
with the customer/operator and
document (see table):
• Is there a VGA monitor, a USB/
PS2 keyboard and mouse available
for connection to the Access server
or can these be provided by the
customer/operator? This is required
for a short period for the system
upgrade, as direct access to the
server is needed.
• Notify the customer/operator:
After an upgrade to V. 3.2, it is pos-
sible to link the Access server as a
member of a domain network (with
domain controller). This integration
must be performed exclusively by
the customer.
• How should future Microsoft
updates for the server operating
system be dealt with? In the as-
delivered status, automatic updates
are deactivated. There are different
setting variants in the server oper-
ating system.
• Suitable date for execution of the
system upgrade with the customer/
operator
3 Inform the Access Service Center
(ASC) of your plan to upgrade at
least one working day in advance
4 Prepare the system upgrade
5 Document system information
for the previous Access system (see
table)
6 Carry out a current configura-
tion backup of the previous Access
system
7 Document the changes required
by the customer (e.g. for the indi-
vidual call Groups).
8 Preparing the Access server for the
upgrade
9 Carry out the system upgrade
10 Commission the server operating
system
11 Optionally: Updating the server
operating system over the internet
12 Commission the new Access
system
13 Restore the existing configuration
14 Check and save basic parameters
15 Request and import new licence
files from Siedle
16 Check User rights for user folders
and customize if applicable
17 Function test of the Access
system
18 Generate and export a system
backup of the current system status
19 Handover to the customer/
operator/end user
20 Inform the customer/operator/
end user of the need for a password
change in both systems (server
operating system and Access server
administration)
