Carry out a current configuration
backup of the previous Access
system
For subsequent restoration of the
server configuration, a configura­
tion backup of the Access server
must be created. A different variant
of the system backup cannot be
used for restoring after an upgrade.
If no system backup is available, the
Access system must be completely
recommissioned.
Procedure
1 Establish an active connection
to the Access server using the
commissioning computer.
2 Start the Firefox browser on the
commissioning computer.
3 Enter the individually assigned
IP address of the server operating
system.
4 The login screen of the Access
server is accessed and opens in the
browser window.
5 Log into the Access server
(Account name: admin / Password:
admin).
6 You are now on the start page
(Dashboard) of the Access server.
7 In the area System backups
> Create system backup,
create a backup of the system
configuration / user settings.
8 Export the newly generated system
backup to your commissioning com-
puter, as during the system upgrade
all data on the server is deleted.

Document the changes required
by the customer (e.g. for the
individual call Groups).
From the Access server version 3.2,
the content of the Groups menu
is transferred to the Users menu.
The individual call groups are then
located in the project folder in the
Users menu.
All user rights are automatically
adopted. For all users with rights to
access a call group, the user entitle-
ment to the relevant call group is
set in the user folder to Visible.
Check the issued user rights with
the customer if applicable before the
upgrade.
If changes are necessary, document
them.
Preparing the Access server for
the upgrade
Procedure
1 Establish an active connection
to the Access server using the
commissioning computer.
2 Start the Firefox browser on the
commissioning computer.
3 Enter the individually assigned
IP address of the server operating
system.
4 The login screen of the Access
server is accessed and opens in the
browser window.
5 Log into the Access server
(Account name: admin / Password:
admin).
6 You are now on the start page
(Dashboard) of the Access server.
7 In the area System maintenance
> Restart close down the server.
8 Insert the USB stick with the
upgrade into the server.
Carry out the system upgrade
For licensing reasons, after the
upgrade the USB stick together with
the COA card and the Microsoft
licence sticker (COA) as well as the
licence terms (EULA) must remain
with the end customer. The upgrade
may only be carried out if the cus-
tomer/operator is in agreement with
this and the USB stick and COA card
with the licence sticker are not used
for any other purpose.
Important!
• During the upgrade, the US
keyboard layout is active.
• During the upgrade, an active net-
work connection must always exist
to the network adapter (Access) (if
applicable with a separate switch if
no external hardware (such as your
laptop) may be integrated into the
customer network).
Procedure
1 Switch on the server and imme-
diately afterwards (Siedle logo
appears), press [F11] to access the
Boot menu.
2 A selection window opens
Please select boot device:
3 Select the USB stick boot medium
and confirm your selection with the
Enter button.
4 The upgrade process is started and
the Microsoft logo appears.
5 After a few minutes, a window
opens for the command line input.
6 Enter the command Diskpart and
confirm with the Enter button.
7 The prompt Diskpart > is dis-
played.
8 Enter the command List volume
and confirm with the Enter button.
9 A spreadsheet appears of all the
drives and exchangeable data car-
riers (USB sticks) detected at the
server.
