10 Look for the drive letter of the
upgrade stick (name: WinPE Access,
type: Removable) and note this
down (e.g. D).
Drive letter of the USB stick:
11 Enter the Exit command.
12 The message Leaving
Disk Part... appears. The prompt
X:\windows\system32> is dis-
played.
13 Enter the command
Diskpart /s [Drive letter for
the USB stick]:\Deployment\
CreatePartitionsBIOS.txt. If the
USB stick is assigned for instance
to the drive letter D, the command
is Diskpart /s D:\Deployment\
CreatePartitionsBIOS.txt. To
enter the path component (e.g.
deployment), it is sufficient to enter
the first three letters and complete
the input with the tabulator button
(e.g. actuate the Dep and Tab
button several times if applicable
until Deployment is displayed).
14 Confirm your input with the
Enter button.
15 A drive partition is created on the
integrated drive.
16 The prompt X:\windows\
system32> is displayed again.
17 Enter the command [Drive letter
for the USB stick]:\Deployment\
ApplyImage.bat [Drive letter for
the USB Stick]:\Images\[Image
Name].
If the USB stick is assigned for
instance to the drive letter D, the
command is D:\Deployment\
ApplyImage.bat D:\Images\
[Image Name]
Important!
The image name depends on the
Access Server version (S or M) and
is regularly recreated in order to
guarantee that the server operating
system is up to date.
Therefore, the image name changes
slightly on a regular basis and is
always: Access_[Access Server
version]_[Date with month
and year]_[Access system ver-
sion]_[Build version].wim (e.g.
Access_S_062016_V3.2.0_B1037.
wim)
18 Confirm your input with the
Enter button.
19 The system image is copied to
the server. Experience has shown
that this process takes around
10-15 minutes.
20 When the process is complete,
a confirmation message and the
prompt X:\windows\system32>
are displayed.
21 Enter the Exit command.
22 The window for command line
entry is closed and the server powers
down.
23 Pull the USB stick out of the
server while it is powering down for
the first time, otherwise it could be
that instead of using the new system
image, the system starts from the
upgrade stick.
24 The server is prepared for its first
use. It can be that the server car-
ries out several restarts during this
process. Experience has shown that
this process can take between 5 -
10 minutes.
25 The server set-up (Settings) is
started.
26 Enter the required country or
region, app language and keyboard
layout.
27 Confirm your entry with Next.
28 Here, enter the 25-digit alphanu-
merical product key for the server
operating system without fail. The
product key can be found on the
Windows Certificate of Authenticity
– COA with the original Microsoft
COA label stuck on it.
If the error message This product
key didn't work... appears, check
and correct your entry.
Important! You must enter the
product key at this point. It is not
possible to enter it later and the
upgrade process would have to be
started again from the beginning.
29 Confirm your entry with Next.
(Not with the Enter button as if
you make an incorrect entry this is
understood as Skip entry command,
and you would have to repeat the
entire process again from the begin-
ning).
30 Accept (I Accept) the Microsoft
Software License terms.
31 Assign a secure password in
accordance with the customer's
specifications for server passwords
and document it on the previous
page in the field "Issued password -
server operating system:
(Siedle standard password:
SiedleAccessMain2015).
Note
The configurable Microsoft standard
password guideline requests a pass-
word with the following minimum
properties:
• at least 1 upper case letter
• at least 1 lower case letter
• at least 1 number
32 After issuing the password, the
actual upgrade process is complete.
The server is restarted and the login
page of the server operating system
(Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to sign in)
is displayed.
33 The new Access system can now
be commissioned.
