Completely read through this
upgrade instruction before you
plan and execute the system
upgrade on the customer's prem-
ises.
Observe the safety instructions.
• The Access server upgrade
package can be purchased exclu-
sively through an Access Certified 
Partner. To place the order, the serial
number of the server hardware
and the hardware ID of the existing
access system are required. The
upgrade may only be performed by
an Access Certified Partner (ACP) or
by the Access Service Center (ASC).
• For licensing reasons, after the
upgrade the USB stick together with
the COA card and the Microsoft
licence sticker as well as the licence
conditions must remain with the end
customer. The upgrade may only be
carried out if you are in agreement
with this and the USB stick and COA
card with the licence sticker are not
used for any other purpose.
• Access Certified Partners (ACPs)
are authorized to commission Access
systems. They have proven their
competency as planners and admin-
istrators of Siedle Access systems,
have passed independent audits per-
formed by the accredited body TÜV
Süd and are certified by Siedle.
• During the upgrade or update,
and also during a system backup
and restore process, the Access
server and therefore the entire door
communication system is not ready
for operation. All system statuses
set by users are reset after a restart
(e.g. activated Doormatic is deac-
tivated, call rerouting set-ups are
deactivated, switching outputs are
returned to their configured idle
status etc.).
• The system image for the upgrade
with the current server operating
system will be drawn up on the
date of delivery. In this as-delivered
status, the function Automatic
updates for the server operating
system is deactivated. Please clarify
with the customer/operator whether
the function should be activated or
not. If system updates are provided
by Microsoft on the date of the
upgrade or afterwards, plan an addi-
tional period for a possible system
restart. The time required for this
depends on the provided update
volume and the internet connection.
Important!
• Please inform the Access Service
Center (ASC) at least 1 working day
before the planned upgrade in order
to ensure rapid completion of the
licence conversion.
• For the complete upgrade pro-
cess including preparation, system
backup and restore, function test
and customer handover, depending
on your system size, please set aside
a time window of at least 2 hours.
The system upgrade process itself
takes up to 45 minutes.
• Recommendation: Please plan
a suitable time window outside the
main operating time of the Access
server (if possible). Ensure that all
affected persons (customer/operator/
end user) are informed of the
planned interruption of operation.
• For requesting new licence files,
you need different information from
the previous and new server ver-
sion. i.e. the request for new system
licences can take place at the ear-
liest when commissioning the new
system when the new hardware ID is
known. After the upgrade, you have
up to 30 days time to request the
new licence files from Siedle and to
import them into the system. Please
take into account that the conver-
sion of licence files is only possible
during normal business hours of
Siedle Project Sales.
