2.3. Safety in vehicles
You can tell whether or not your wheelchair is approved as a seat in a
motor vehicle for transporting mobility-impaired persons by the symbol
on the type plate on the wheelchair:
• Wheelchair suitable as a seat in a motor vehicle for transporting
D
persons with reduced mobility (Fig. D)
• Wheelchair not suitable as a seat in a motor vehicle for transporting
persons with reduced mobility (Fig. D)
The Econ XXL wheelchair is not suitable as a vehicle seat, therefore it
must not be used as such under any circumstances. It
does not meet the requirements of ISO 7176-19. Failure to do so may
result in serious injury and death in the event of an accident.

2.4. Use on Public Roads
The wheelchair is designed for indoor and outdoor use. Please keep in
mind that you are using public roads and therefore have to observe all
road traffic regulations.
Do not endanger other road users through inconsiderate driving,
especially on walkways.
2.5. Brakes
Service brake:
When driving, brake the wheelchair using the handrims. Please note that
your hands can get hot when doing this.

Parking brake/parking:
As soon as the wheelchair is stationary, push both brake levers forward.
(see chapter 4.5). The wheelchair is safely braked when it can no longer
be pushed away and both brake levers are pushed forward as far as they
will go. Pull the lever back towards you to release the brake (see chap.
4.5).
Drum brake:
The wheelchair can optionally be equipped with a drum brake that
can only be operated by an attendant via the brake levers on the push
handles.
2.6. Purpose
The wheelchair is designed solely to increase mobility and to transport
adult people with impaired mobility in accordance with indications listed.
Unless otherwise indicated, the instructions in this operating manual are
intended for the occupant as the operator.
The maximum user load is 250 kg.
Please note:
We are only able to issue a guarantee if the product is used in accordance
with the specified conditions and for the specified purpose.
2.7. Indications for use
Walking disability or distinct walking impairment due to:
• paralysis
• loss of limb
• extremity defect/deformation
• joint stiffness/damage (not affecting both arms)
• other diseases.
