are mounted on the assigned rims. When mounting chains on retreaded tires,
the fitting of the chains on the tire must be checked by a qualified person. Do not
use the chains if they do not fit the tire properly. Observe the tire inflation pressu-
re indicated by the vehicle manufacturer. Do not reduce the tire inflation pressure
before or after mounting as this may cause damage.
1 2. Before moving the vehicle, check that the traction chains are properly mounted
on the tire.
13. After mounting the traction chain, ensure that no part of the chain touches or hits
any part of the vehicle - even when the steering wheel is turned fully on the front
axle.
14. After driving a short distance (50-100m or 150-300ft.) stop the vehicle and re-
check the tightness and fit of the traction chain on the tire. Re-tighten the chain if
necessary.
15. Do not spin tires with chains mounted as this will damage the chains and tires.
1 6. Check the fitting and wear of the traction chains after driving 20 km, after emer-
gency braking or after having touched the curb and/or similar. If the chains are
not demounted before driving on snow-free roads the chains need to be checked
after driving max. 5 km.
17. Traction chains can be repaired if they are broken. We recommend to instruct
qualified personnel to carry out repairs or conversion to other sizes. Only use
original spare parts for repairs and conversion.
18. Keep traction chains in a dry place and protect them from chemical influences.
19. Traction chains must only be used for driving on snow- or ice-covered roads.
Observe the areas allowed for use of traction chains (do not use traction chains
off road unless such use is approved by the chain's manufacturer).
2 0. On surfaces completely covered with snow, the driving speed with traction
chains mounted must not exceed
50 km/h. Drive accordingly slower if the road is partially free of snow.
