Safety valve
The operating pressure of the secondary cooling water network shall at least
be 5% below the closing pressure of the safety valve (2.5 bar).
By means of airing, the valve should at least once annually be checked for
functionality.
Prior to dismantling, please take care that the safety valve is pressure-
relieved.
Annual maintenance requires checking the admission pressure in the
extension tank.
For this purpose, the connection of the water-side to the extension tank must
be drained.
Remove the lead seal from the cap valve, remove the cap and close the
valve by turning it down by means of a hexagon socket spanner.
Now the membrane extension tank is separated from the cooling water
system.
Subsequently open the drain valve. Then check the admission pressure by
means of a pressure gauge, compare it with the pressure specified on the
device label and, if necessary, fill up with nitrogen. After pressure testing,
slowly open the cap valve. As soon as water flows out of the drain valve,
close it again. After that the cap must be put on again and newly lead-
sealed.
