2.2.8 Safety instructions
● Only use the product in daylight, or in good artificial
lighting.
● Wear safety glasses, ear protection, safety gloves,
non-slip safety shoes and heavy-duty long trousers.
● Do not wear loose-fitting clothing, jewellery or watches
that can get caught in moving parts. Do not use the
product barefoot or wearing open shoes.
● Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and
good balance. Only use the product on a level, stable
surface.
● Be careful to avoid slipping or falling, especially when
walking backwards.
● Never run with the product.
● Check that the power switch is in the OFF position before
putting in the battery. The power switch and lock must
not be in the locked position.
● Always check before use that all the screw unions and
other unions are properly tightened, that all the safety
devices are in place and working, and that moving parts
do not jam.
● Never dismantle or modify the safety devices on the
product.
● Do not use the product if it is damaged, or if all the safety
devices are not in place and working properly. Replace
damaged or worn parts.
● Do not use the product in an explosive environment, e.g.
near flammable liquids, gas or dust – risk of fire and/or
explosion.
● The product produces an electromagnetic field when in
use. This field can in some circumstances affect active or
passive medical implants. If you have a medical implant
you should consult your doctor and/or the manufacturer
of the medical implant before using the product to reduce
the risk of serious or fatal personal injury.
2.2.9 Safety instructions for lithium-ion batteries
● Do not open the battery – risk of short circuiting.
● Keep batteries away from water, moisture and sources of
heat such as direct sunlight – risk of explosion.
● The battery can emit fumes when used incorrectly or if
damaged. Such fumes can irritate the respiratory system.
Breathe in fresh air. Seek medical attention if the
complaint persists.
● Only use batteries of the type recommended by the
manufacturer, with the voltage specified on the type plate

on the product. The use of other batteries can result in a
risk of fire, explosion, personal injury and/or material
damage.
● The battery voltage must correspond to the charging
voltage, otherwise there is a risk of fire and/or explosion.
● Only charge the battery with the charger recommended
by the manufacturer. Charging other batteries can result
in a risk of personal injury and/or fire.
● Never attempt to open the battery.
Keep the battery away from sharp objects and metal
objects, and do not subject it to knocks or blows – risk of
short-circuiting, fire, explosion and/or personal injury.
● Read all the instructions and safety instructions for the
charger and/or battery.
2.2.10 Risk of fire and/or explosion
● Never use damaged, defective or deformed batteries.
Never attempt to open the battery or subject it to knock
and blows.
● Never charge the battery near acid and/or flammable gas
or other substances.
● Do not expose batteries to heat or naked flames.
● Do not charge the battery at temperatures below 10°C or
above 40°C, this can damage the battery.
● Do not expose the battery to high temperatures or strong
sunlight for long periods.
● The battery will get hot during long periods of use. Allow
it to cool before charging.
● Never short-circuit the battery terminals.
● The battery must be packed in a plastic bag or box, or the
battery terminals sealed, before transport or storage and
before waste disposal of the battery.
2.2.11 Remaining risks
● Even if appropriate safety regulations are adhered to and
safety devices are used,
it is not possible to eliminate all risks.
The following risks remain:
● Risk of cut injuries.
● Risk of hearing impairment.
● Prolonged use without ear protection can result in the
risk of a hearing impairment. Wear ear protection.
● Risk of personal injury as a result of vibration during
prolonged and/or incorrect use.
