7.2. HEADBAND
(Figure B:1 - B:3)
(B:1) Slide out the cups and tilt the top of the cup out, as
the cable must be on the outside of the headband.
(B:2) Adjust the height of the cups by sliding them up or
down while holding the headband in place.
(B:3) The headband should be positioned across the top of
your head as shown and should support the weight of the
headset.
7.3. NECKBAND
(Figure B:4 - B:6)
(B:4) Place the cups in position over the ears.
(B:5) Keep the cups in position, place the head strap on top
of your head and lock it tight in position.
(B:6) The head strap should be positioned across the top of
your head and should support the weight of the headset.
7.4. CARRIER ATTACHMENT
(Figure B:7 - B:11)
(B:7) Insert the helmet attachment in the slot on the helmet
and snap it into place (B:8).
(B:9) Work mode: Press the headband wires inwards until you
hear a click on both sides. Make sure that the cups and the
headband wires do not press on the edge of the helmet when
in work mode as this could reduce the noise attenuation of
the earmuff.
(B:10) Ventilation mode: To switch the unit from work mode to
ventilation mode, pull outward on the ear cups until you hear
a click. Avoid placing the cups against the helmet (B:11) as
this prevents ventilation.
7.5. MICROPHONE
(Figure C:1 - C:2)
To maximize the performance of the speech microphone in
noisy areas, position the microphone very close to your
mouth (less than 3 mm or 1/8 inch).

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
8.1. POWERING THE UNIT ON AND OFF
(Figure A:9)
Press and hold the On/Off/Mode button (A:9) until a message
is heard to switch the headset on or off. The voice message
will confirm that the unit has been switched on or off. The
latest setting is always saved when the headset is switched
off.
NOTE: Power is switched off automatically if the product has
been inactive for two hours (from the last button press or
VOX transmission). Automatic power-off is indicated by a
voice message: "automatic power off" followed by a series of
short tones for 10 seconds, then the unit is switched off.
8.2. PTT
(Figure A:14)
Push-To-Talk.
Press and hold the PTT button (A:14) to open the two-way
radio channel and then speak into the microphone.
NOTE: When pressing the PTT button, the headset will
always transmit a signal.

9.3. VOX (VOICE-OPERATED TRANSMISSION)
VOX is a hands-free substitute for the Push-To-Talk (PTT)
button.
With VOX, you simply speak into the microphone to open the
channel. The VOX setting defines the acoustic threshold that
activates the radio transmission. Higher settings are
appropriate for louder environments.
To adjust the sensitivity of VOX, press the (+) button (A:10) or
(–) button (A:11) when on the VOX menu setting. You can
choose between five levels or switch this function off.
To turn the VOX function on and off, press the PTT button
twice. Alternatively, when on the VOX setting in the menu,
press the (–) button for two seconds to turn VOX off.
Press the (+) button to switch this function back on. If VOX is
off, the PTT button must be used to transmit.
NOTE: By default, the Busy Channel Lock Out (BCLO)
function will prevent VOX operation if the channel is occupied
with other transmission ("busy") and you will hear an audible
tone to indicate the blocked transmission. These settings can
be adjusted in the setup menu.
