EXPLANATION OF THE FUNCTIONS
A. Day of the week: indicated by the hand on the counter positioned at 9 o'clock. The
hand moves forward by one position on every day of the week.
B. Day of the month: indicated by the hand on the counter positioned at 3 o'clock. Every
day, the hand moves forward by one position, before returning to the 1st each time
the month changes. At the end of the month, whether it has 28, 29, 30 or 31 days, the
date automatically jumps back to the first of the following month. This mechanism has
been programmed to take leap years into account until the year 2100, which will not
be recognised as a non-leap year. A manual adjustment will therefore be required at
this time.
C. The month: indicated by the hand on the counter positioned at 12 o'clock. It makes
one complete revolution every 12 months.
D. The year: indicated by the small arrow at the centre of the counter positioned at
12 o'clock. It makes one complete revolution every 4 years. The year is displayed in
reference to the leap year, which is indicated by a dot. The three non-leap years are
indicated by the figures "1", "2" and "3".
Reminder: Leap years are those for which the last two digits are divisible by 4: 2004,
2008, 2012, etc. The centenary years (2100; 2200; 2300, etc.) are not leap years, with
the exception of those for which the entire figure is divisible by 400 (for example,
1600; 2000; 2400, etc.).
E. Monphases: indicated at 6 o'clock through the moon-phase window, the moon-phase
indicate the exact current moon-phase as it appears in the sky. A manual adjustment
will be required every two and a half years approximately.
