Risk of explosion caused by exposure to unsuitable materials
WARNING
!
Oils, fats and other materials that are not suitable for use with
oxygen and may cause an explosive combustion when com-
bined with oxygen. This can pose a danger to users.
All parts coming in contact with oxygen, as well as any tools
and test devices used, must be free of oils and fats.
Never use test devices and materials which are not tested
and approved for use in combination with oxygen (be sure to
observe the temperature and pressure range). Keep the case
closed when it is not in use.
Hazards when handling oxygen
DANGER
!
Risk of explosion or intense fire in the event of an oxygen
leak!
Oxygen is a strong oxidizing agent.
Only use the product outdoors or in very well ventilated rooms
with a maximum O concentration of 23 %Vol. Smoking and

open flames are not allowed in the vicinity of the product!
If it is suspected that more oxygen has escaped than is nec-
essary for measurement, shut down the product immediately
and make sure that the oxygen concentration in the ambient
air is no greater than 23 %Vol. and that any clothing worn is
well aired for at least 15 minutes.
The leak must be located and, if necessary, repaired by an
authorized service technician. The device may not be used
until after the malfunction has been repaired.
Observe all applicable national regulations for handling oxy-
gen.

Tampering with pressurized components
DANGER
!
Pressurized components, such as ends of tubes, may sud-
denly come loose when tampered with, and the resulting
pressure surge can cause serious injuries.
Any work on the product may only be performed after the
pressure has been released.
Always open and close the valves slowly when performing
the procedures described. Never loosen or pull on pressur-
ized tube lines or tube fittings.
Other hazards
CAUTION

The OxyTest 2000 may only be used in combination with the
®
Dräger X-am 5000 with an installed 100 % oxygen sensor.
Otherwise, the measured values will not correspond to the
proper oxygen concentration.
CAUTION
!
Risk of contaminating the OxyTest 2000.
Removing the end caps may result in contaminating the con-
nections.
All end caps should only be removed immediately before the
connections are to be used. After use, immediately reattach
the end caps to the connections.
