During Operation
Starting the Machine
1. Sit on the operator's seat.
2. Release the parking brake.
3. Ensure that the blade-control switch (PTO) is
disengaged.
4. Move the drive-mode switch to the N
position.
5. Turn the key switch to the O
Driving the Machine
Note:
Always use caution when backing up and
turning.
1. Disengage the parking brake.
2. Move the drive-mode switch to the F
R position.
EVERSE
3. Place your foot on the traction-control pedal and
slowly press it to start driving.
Note:
The farther you press the pedal, the
faster the machine moves.
4. Release the traction-control pedal and slowly
press the brake pedal to stop or slow the
machine.
Note:
Stop the machine before changing
direction to forward or reverse.
Shutting Off the Machine
1. Park the machine on a level surface.
2. Disengage the mower blades.
3. Engage the parking brake.
4. Turn the key switch to the O
remove the key.

Operating the Mower
Blade-Control Switch (PTO)
The blade-control switch (PTO) starts and stops the
mower blades.
Engaging the Blade-Control
Switch (PTO)
Ensure that the drive-mode switch is in the F
position before engaging the mower blades. Refer to
Reverse-Mowing Operation (RMO) Button (page 14)
for mowing in reverse.

Note:
The mower blades automatically disengage
when operating the machine in reverse (when not
using the reverse-mowing button) or when the
operator rises from the seat.
