– Selecting operating mode
The user can choose between four operating modes in menu 1.01:
– Automatic:
Automatic switching between cistern operation
and drinking water backfeed by means of the level
sensor.
– Off:
The pump and the electro valve are not
controlled
switchgear continues to function.
– Manual:
This operating mode is available to customer
services. The function of the pump and valve can
be verified via menus 1.02 and 1.03.
– Drinking water: A continuous supply is provided independently of
the level sensor via the drinking water backfeed
tank.
– Level indicator
The level indicator is suitable for all tank types (plastic, concrete,
metal) and shapes (square and rectangular tanks, upright cylinders,
horizontal cylinders and spheres). The level is displayed as a
percentage of the maximum useful filling volume.
A level sensor with a measuring range of 0 – 5 mWS (0 to 5 metre
water column) is available for the Wilo-RainSystem AF 22. If neces-
sary, the sensor type must be set in menu 2.03 (sensor type).
A water coverage greater than 5 m is not

permitted with a 0 – 5 mWS level sensor!
All data on the tank/cistern geometry required by the level indicator are
set in menus 2.04 – 2.07.
– Menu 2.04 Tank form: In this menu the geometric form of the
cistern used is set. Specifying the geometric shape of the tank
helps calculate the exact level.
– Menu 2.05 Tank height: This is where the existing tank height
is set. In the case of horizontal cylinders, the tank height
corresponds to the diameter of the cylinder (see fig. 3).
– Menu 2.06 Height Sensor: The installation height of the level
sensor above the tank bottom is to be set in this menu. This level
is given as an absolute value in relation to the tank bottom.

4.2.2 Changing parameters in the switchgear
Only the menu points 1.0x (Operating mode menu) and 2.02
(Language menu) are settable in the delivery state. In all other points it
is not possible to change the parameters. To be able to also change
these points, the parameter change must be released. The correct
procedure for this operation is described below:

or if an error occurs.
– Menu 2.07 Overflow height: The installation height of the
overflow above the tank bottom is set in this menu. Only the area
between the installation height of the sensor (menu 2.06) and that
of the overflow (menu 2.07) is used to calculate the filling level.
The areas below the sensor and above the overflow cannot be
used by the unit. This level is given as an absolute value in relation
The
to the tank bottom.
– Function of level control by means of level sensor (fig. 3)
All level points required for level control are set in menus 2.09 – 2.11.
– Menu 2.09 Backfeed level: If this level is not reached (menu
2.09) the unit switches to drinking water backfeed mode.
The unit remains in this operating mode until the level "Drinking
water backfeed quantity" (menu 2.10, quantity DW) is exceeded.
The value in menu 2.10 is set as the difference from the level in
menu 2.09. The backfeed level is given as a relative value, i.e. the
reference point is the installation height of the sensor.
In the Drinking water backfeed operating mode the water is taken
from the unit's drinking water tank. In the standard display this is
represented by the display > Automatic DW < in the second line.
– Menu 2.11 Alarm level: This level monitors the max. filling level in
the cistern. If this level is exceeded, an appropriate alarm signal is
given (4.06 Alarm level error). This signal can only be acknowledged
from a lower level (menu 2.11 – 5 cm Hysteresis). This level is given
as an absolute value in relation to the tank bottom.
The unit automatically switches over to Drinking water mode.
