7.2 Setting up a Bluetooth connection with mobile devices
1) Activate the Bluetooth receiver by pressing the PAIR switch. The status indicator starts flashing and the
unit will enter pairing mode.
2) Activate the Bluetooth function at the Bluetooth source and start the device scan. Select "OMNITRONIC
PORTY-8A" from the list and connect the devices (status indicator lights solid).
3) Now play music at the Bluetooth source as you normally would and the sound will come out of the
speaker systems. Mix the Bluetooth signal to the master signal using the level control in channel 4.
4) For decoupling the devices and thus switching off the Bluetooth receiver, press the PAIR button once
again.
7.3 Setting up a Bluetooth link between two PORTY-8A
The integrated TWS (True Wireless Stereo) function allows two PA systems to be paired via Bluetooth. The
left and right audio channels are played back separately and without delay in stereo via both PA systems.
1) Pair the Bluetooth source with the first PA system as described before.
2) Press the STEREO LINK button on the first PA system, the press the PAIR button on the second PA
system. The sound will come out of both PA systems in stereo.
7.4 Using the hand-held microphone and bodypack (accessory)
1) Switch on the receiver module with button (22). To switch on the wireless microphone, set its sliding
switch to the "ON" position. The battery indicator lights up green. If it lights up red, new batteries must be
inserted. After switching on the microphone, a radio connection to the receiver unit is set up. The
reception indicator RF indicates that a connection exists to the microphone.
2) Speak into the microphone and adjust the desired playback volume at the PA system using the level
control in channel 4.
3) The integrated echo effect also affects the wireless microphone. Adjust the effect intensity with the
EFFECT control.
4) The use of the bodypack transmitter is similar. Attach the device to your clothing
or to the loop of an instrument via the belt clip and connect the microphone. After
switching on, a radio connection to the receiver is established here as well. To
correct the volume level, you can use the gain control on the bodypack
transmitter.
5) To save battery power, always switch off the receiver module if it is not used and do not forget to switch
off the transmitters. Otherwise the batteries will be exhausted the next time they are used.
