4 Setup
4.1 Installation
Floor-standing
Place the speaker according to the desired application. For playback to a seated or standing audience, tripod
mounting is recommended. A dual flange with 0° and 7.5° tilt angle enables flexible positioning. Suitable
stands can be found in the Accessories chapter. Thanks to the folding bracket, the speaker can also be
placed as a live monitor.
Notes
• Always install the speakers at a solid, plane, anti-slip, vibration-free, oscillation-free and fire-resistant
location. Before installing the system, make sure that the installation area can hold a minimum point load of
5 times the system's load (e.g. weight 20 kg - point load 100 kg). The speakers must never be installed
higher than 100 cm without secondary attachment.
• Satellite systems must only be installed on a plane area with a maximum inclination angle of 5°.
• The system has to be installed out of the reach of people. An unintended movement of the load has to be
avoided - also in case of fire!
• Depending upon the individual installation spot, all necessary measures against movement and for
securing the standing safety have to be taken.
4.2 Making the connections
As signal source, microphones, music instruments and audio units with line level can be connected. To avoid
interfering noise, switch off the PA system or set the output controls to minimum prior to connecting and
disconnecting equipment. Be sure to use only high-grade cables.
• Use standard XLR or 6.3 mm cables to connect dynamic microphones, instruments or line-level devices to
the inputs of channel 1-3. Then adjust the input level with the corresponding selector switch.
• Connect cabled audio devices with line level to the RCA inputs or 3.5 mm jack of channel 4. Use standard
stereo RCA or jack cables to connect e.g. a CD player, keyboard or MP3 player to this input.
• Finally, connect the supplied power supply cable to the corresponding input and the mains plug to an outlet
(230 V~, 50 Hz).
• For larger indoor PA applications where the sound has to be radiated as even as possible, two or more PA
systems may be connected in series. For this connect your signal sources to the primary unit and connect
the mono line output MIX OUT to one of the adjustable line inputs of the first secondary unit. Then set the
corresponding input level switch to line level. Connect further units likewise. The MIX OUT jack provides
the mixed signal of the signal sources adjusted with the individual level controls and the tone controls.
Alternatively, you can connect other units with line level inputs (e.g. mixer, recording unit) to the output.
