Step 1:
Apply the appropriate finger
compression, if needed.
Step 2:
The undersleeve is worn for added
comfort and when exudate is expected.
Instruct the patient to slide the
undersleeve onto the arm, up to the
axilla. The thumb should show through
the undersleeve's thumb hole. It may be
necessary to cut a thumb hole in the
undersleeve if one is not already present.
Step 3*:
To fit the circaid reduction kit arm, slide
the sleeve onto the patient's arm using
the two inner bands. The black side of
the material should face the skin and the
sleeve should extend from the wrist to
the axilla.
Tip:
If the sleeve is too long for the patient, it
can be trimmed by 3 cm and 7 cm. Trim
along one of the indicated cut lines on
the black side of the material. Trim the
corresponding hook tab as needed.
*The hand wrap may be applied after
the reduction kit arm if the patient will
need to frequently remove the hand
wrap for increased dexterity.
Step 4:
Adjust the two inner bands to fit snugly
on the patient's arm. The inner bands
should not provide compression.
Step 5:
Trim the excess material from the inner
bands and refasten the bands.
Step 6:
Starting with the wrist band, pull each
band across the arm and note the
amount it overlaps with the opposing
side of the sleeve. Mark the band where
it overlaps about 3 cm with the sleeve
and trim the band. Repeat this step with
all of the bands.
Step 7:
To tighten the circaid reduction kit arm,
instruct the patient to pull the wrist
