System Setup

Table 6 depicts the order and steps of the Visual-ICE MRI Cryoablation System setup. This section describes each step
in detail.

Preparation for Use

Prior to using the Visual-ICE MRI Cryoablation System, inspect the Console, Mobile Connection Panel, power cord, brakes,
safety cables, gas supply lines, gas connections, Junction Box Harnesses, and the monitor touch screen to ensure they
are not damaged. If any of the components are damaged, contact Boston Scientific Technical Assistance Center.
CAUTION: Do not use the Visual-ICE MRI Cryoablation System if any moisture or condensation is present on the
surfaces of the system. Allow the system to dry completely for 12 hours prior to powering up the system. Powering
up the system containing moisture or condensation could result in permanent damage to the electrical boards,
causing the system to be inoperable.
Prior to starting a cryoablation procedure, set up the Visual-ICE MRI Cryoablation System, connect the gas cylinders,
and conduct functionality tests on each MRI cryoablation needle (reference the Pre-Procedure Testing Section).

Positioning the Mobile Connection Panel in the Magnet Room

WARNING: Needle tubing may become extremely cold when conducting freeze cycles during a cryoablation
procedure. It is important that a patient's skin is protected from direct contact with needle tubing to avoid the
potential for thermal injury to the patient. Ensure an appropriate insulating barrier is placed as needed (such as
towels) or other method is employed to prevent needle tubing from touching a patient's skin.

• Confirm availability of gas, needles, and accessories
• Position Visual-ICE MRI Mobile Connection Panel in the magnet room
and lock all wheels
• Position Visual-ICE MRI Cryoablation Console in the control room and
lock brake
• Ensure Manual Vent Valve is closed and Argon Shutoff Valve is ON
• Power Visual-ICE MRI Cryoablation System ON
• Login
• Connect the helium gas supply line to the Console and then connect
the gas supply line to the helium cylinder
• Connect argon gas supply line to the Console and then connect the gas
supply line to the argon cylinder
• Ensure safety cables are connected
• Connect Junction Box Harness in the magnet room
• Ensure the safety cables are connected
NOTE: Drape harnesses to avoid trip hazards
• OPEN valve on helium, then argon
• Verify gas pressure is within working limits for the cryoablation
procedure (reference Table 7)
