Safety Precautions

4.1

Warning Symbols

The warning symbols on the double-battery com‐
partment or battery have the following meaning:
Follow the safety instructions and their
measures.
Read, understand and keep the
instruction manual.
Protect the battery from heat and fire.
Do not immerse the battery in liquids.
4.2

Intended Use

The double-battery compartment connects one
or two STIHL AP batteries with a STIHL cordless
product with a holder for the double-battery com‐
partment.
The double-battery compartment may be used
when it is raining.
The battery may be used when it is raining.
The STIHL AP battery supplies the STIHL cord‐
less product with power.
During the work, the double-battery compartment
is connected to a cordless product as described
in the instruction manual for the cordless prod‐
uct.
The double-battery compartment must only be
used in ground-based gardening power tools.
The battery with allows personalisation and
transmission of information to the battery in com‐
bination with the STIHL connected app on the
®
basis of Bluetooth technology.
WARNING
■ Failure to use the double-battery compartment
or battery as intended may result in serious or
fatal injury to people and damage to property.
► Use the double-battery compartment as
described in this instruction manual.

► Use the battery as described in this instruc‐
tion manual, the STIHL connected app and
at www.connect.stihl.com.
► Do not charge the battery in the double-bat‐
tery compartment.
4.3

Requirements for the User

WARNING
■ Uninstructed users cannot recognise or evalu‐
ate the dangers posed by the double-battery
compartment and battery. This may result in
serious or fatal injury to the user or other peo‐
ple.
► Read, understand and keep the
instruction manual.
► If passing on the double-battery compart‐
ment or battery to another person: provide
them with the instruction manual also.
► Make sure that the user meets the following
conditions:
– The user is rested.
– The user is physically, sensorily and
mentally capable of operating the dou‐
ble-battery compartment and battery
and working with them. If the user is
physically, sensorily or mentally
impaired, the double-battery compart‐
ment and battery must only be used
under supervision or following instruc‐
tion by a responsible person.
– The user can recognise and evaluate
the dangers posed by the double-bat‐
tery compartment and battery.
– The user is of legal age or the user is
being trained under supervision in a
profession in accordance with national
regulations.
– The user has received instruction from a
STIHL specialist dealer or a competent
person before using the double-battery
compartment for the first time.
– The user is not impaired by alcohol,
medicines or drugs.
► If anything is unclear: consult a STIHL spe‐
cialist dealer.
