User Instructions - Technovit
Caution! Optical radiation - Never
look unprotected into the LED radiation!
Read carefully before first use! These Instructions are made to acquaint you with the handling of the Blue light device as well
as the polymerization system. Preserve these user instructions!
Area of application and product properties
The Technovit Blue LED is a mobile LED polymerization device for application (polymerization) of lightcuring Technovit‐
Products, especially in the areas of ambulant metallographic and repair of ceramic surfaces. The housing is made of anodized
aluminum. Light source is a 1‐Watt high‐performance LED with a continuous power control in a wavelength of 465 nm (Blue
light).
Not intended use:
Not usable for illuminating
Not for use in combination with medical or cosmetic products and applications
Safety advice:
Use only for application, described in the User Instructions. Using for other applications may cause damages on
the product or in its environment.
Do not use or store within reach of children ‐ Unit is not a toy!
Never look with unprotected eyes into the LED beam. Wearing of toned glasses (not part of the delivery unit) is
recommended
Do not look over a longer period onto the irradiated area
Never train the beam to the face of other people.
If someone trains the LED beam to your eyes, close the eyes and turn away your head.
Work in a bright environment.
Do not use the device, if outer damages are visible
Use only under dry conditions and in dry environment
Protect the device from wetness and extreme heat, never put into liquids!
Do not open the device, except on the backside for changing the batteries.
Reconstruction or changes affecting the product safety. Risk injury!
Never do repairs on your own!
Handle with care! Product can be easily damaged by crushes, beats or falling down from a minor height
Starting operations:
Before first use, put in the provided batteries (ref. to chapter „Changing of Batteries")
By pushing the button on the backside of the device, the LED is switched on and off.
By moving the head of the lamp, the irradiation area can be enhanced or reduced.
Application:
The mobile LED polymerization device Technovit Blue LED is made exclusively for polymerization of light curing materials for
industrial/metallographical use. It is matched for using in combination with the products of the
Technovit series 22xx and 25xx.
The ready to use Technovit‐products are applied with a brush, instrument or directly out of the syringe on the treated
(grinded/cleaned) surface. Objects to be fixed are hold with a tweezer.
Place the Technovit Blue LED in a distance of max. 1 cm over the placed Technovit products and switch on. Depending on
the product, the polymerization time takes 40 ‐ 60 sec. Keep the light cone as small as possible to avoid radiation losses.
For time measuring, use a separate timer (not part of the delivery unit)
After finishing the polymerization step, switch off the Technovit Blue LED.

Maintenance, Cleaning:
The Technovit Blue LED is maintenance free! Keep the device clean and dry. To avoid radiation losses, clean the lens regularly.
Use a soft, wet cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaners. Keep the device in the provided pouch.
Changing of Batteries:
Open the cap at the backside of the device by turning counter clockwise.
Remove empty batteries and put in 2 new batteries of the same type (AA, LR6) with positive terminal ahead into the
housing. Rechargeable batteries are not permitted, because of different electrical values.
Close the cap by turning clockwise.
Attention! Use only faultless batteries. Leaked or damaged batteries can cause burns by contact with skin.
In order to avoid this, wear protective gloves.
Disposal:
Do not dispose the device in the household garbage. Dispose over recycling collecting points.
Do not dispose batteries in the household garbage. Dispose over recycling collecting points.
Batteries do not belong into children's hands!
Batteries have not to be shorted out, reloaded or thrown into fire ‐ Explosion hazard!
