• Avoid aggressive ambient conditions, high air humidity or
strong temperature fl uctuations which may lead to
condensation forming on the motor/blower.
Intended use includes the following:
• The blowers are exclusively designed for conveying
gaseous media without solids. The resistance should be
checked against the used steel sheet for operation with
aggressive media. We recommend a condensed water
borehole at the lowest point in the housing in the event of
the formation of condensation.
• S1 operation (continuous operation):
Deviating from a maximum of 10 switches per hour are
allowed.
• With individual versions, a space heater is possible
(only category Ex db eb II 2G T4 135 °C).
• Equipment categories 2G and 3G:
If the fl ow medium and the area surrounding the blower
contain substances that may corrode the materials, such
as acids, alkaline or caustic solutions, solvents, aggres-
sive gases, liquids or solid substances the resistance
against sheet steel have to be checked. The fl ow medium
must be free from substances which may settle, are
adhesive or may form condensates, and must be free
from solids.
• Equipment categories 3D:
If the fl ow medium and area surrounding the blower
contain a substances that may corrode the materials, such
as acids, alkaline or caustic solutions, solvents, aggres-
sive gases of liquids the resistance against sheet steel
have to be checked. The fl ow medium must be free from
substances that are adhesive or may form condensates.
• Blowers with motors according to type of ignition protec-
tion Ex eb are suitable exclusively for mains operation
with rated voltage ± 5% and frequency and must never be
used for frequency-converter operation.
• Fans with motors in accordance with ignition protection
type Ex db eb are only suitable for frequency converter
operation with a rated voltage of ± 5%
• The values for the maximum/minimum frequency can be
found at 3.3.1.
Operation in a prohibited area
Danger!
Risk of destroying the fan!
Operation of the fan in the hatched area (1) trig-
gers pumping eff ects and results in strong vibra-
tions.
This results in the fan being destroyed. Operation
of the fan is only permitted from the minimum
volumetric fl ow rate.

Designated use excludes the following:
• Outdoor installation without additional protective measure
• Special ambient conditions such as, for example, ambient
temperatures at the installation / operation site of more
than +40 °C; dust deposits; vibrations at the installation /
operation site of the blower.
• Operation near / in fl ames or hot gases. The blower must
not be used as an ignition or fl ame arrester.
• Conveying of foreign matter.
• Adiabatic compression and shock waves, lightning,
electromagnetic waves, ionising radiation, ultrasound.
Special designs
Can be provided upon request for applications in conditions
beyond those described in these instructions. In the case of
special equipment, the enclosed supplementary operating
and assembly instructions must be observed and adhered
to. The supplementary instructions diff er in certain respects
from these Operating and Assembly Instructions.
Elektror blowers off er a high level of operational reliability.
As the blowers are high-powered machines, the safety in-
structions must be strictly observed in order to avoid injuries,
damage to objects and to the machine itself.

1.3 Mechanical hazards

Mechanical hazards on Elektror blowers are minimised ac-
cordingly using state-of-the-art engineering and by adhering
to the requirements of the occupational safety and health
protection law. We recommend using and wearing appropri-
ate protective equipment in all phases of the device's service
life (please note the following information) in order to exclude
residual handling risks.

1.4 Electrical Hazards

Live components carry current and cause fatal
injuries!
Deactivate the device before opening it, reaching
into it or inserting tools into it; check that compo-
nents are not live and secure it against reactivation.
1.5 Danger when reaching in and Unexpected Start-up
There is a high risk of injury on the inside of the device due to
rotating parts during operation. Decommission the device in
all cases and wait until all moving parts have stopped before
opening, reaching in or inserting tools into the device. Secure
the device reliably against it being accidentally restarted dur-
ing the entire period.
Also make sure that no other dangerous situation can arise
when restarting after a standstill, e.g., as a result of a power
failure or blockages.
