6. Putting into operation

Screw the supplied plug-in nipple into the air
connection after you have wound 2 to 3 layers of
sealing tape around the thread.
Plunger filling
Unscrew the grease container
from the gun body. Dip the
grease container approx. 3-5 cm
into the grease supply drum and
slowly draw back the plunger 5-8
cm. Then dip the grease
container into the grease drum
again at a different position and
draw back the plunger as before.
Repeat the filling operation 3 to 4
times until the plunger is up against its rear stop.
Reinserting the grease container in the grease
supply drum prevents the formation of air cushions
that could stop the grease being drawn into the
container. Screw the full container onto the gun
body. Press the trigger lever, pushing the plunger
simultaneously up to the stop. The grease is now
forced by spring pressure into the grease gun
bypass.
Pump filling
The filler nipple can be used to
connect the grease gun to a
pump. Connect the filler nipple
(11) to the pump. The grease
gun is then upside down as
illustrated. Now use the pump to
feed the grease into the gun
container. As this happens, the
plunger (20) will be pushed out to
the rear. Keep pumping until the
plunger is pushed out as far as it
can go. Grease will then emerge from the rear end of
the grease container. This is normal and not a defect
of the grease gun. Disconnect the grease gun from
the pump, press the catch lever (21) and
simultaneously push in the plunger as far as the
stop.

Loading a cartridge
Unscrew the grease container
from the gun body. Draw the
plunger (20) back as far as the
stop. You can now insert a 400g
grease cartridge in the grease
container. The cartridge
measures 53 mm in diameter
and 235 mm in length. Before
you insert the cartridge, take off
its rear lid to enable the
retracted plunger cup to enter the cartridge. Pull the
cap off the front of the cartridge and screw the
grease container back onto the gun body. Press the
catch lever (21), pushing in the plunger
simultaneously as far as the stop.

7. Maintenance and cleaning

Observance of the following maintenance
instructions will ensure that this quality tool gives you
years of troublefree service.
Always check that the cylinder is secure before you
start to work. Clean the tool thoroughly as soon as
you are finished with your work.
Regular cleaning and lubrication will keep your
grease gun in good working order.
It is imperative to lubricate the grease gun regularly
with an acid-free, extremely thin-bodied oil.
If the grease gun is used continuously, you should
feed approx. 4-8 drops of oil through its air
connection nipple once a day. The oil will be evenly
distributed after the trigger is pressed several times.
