Check the reliability of the safety switchoff mechanism

Checks should be carried out once a year by the officer responsible for safety to ensure
that the safety AS-Interface system is functioning correctly, that is to say, that the AS-
Interface safety monitor will effect a safety switchoff when triggered by a safety-related
sensor that has been assigned to it (e.g. LS4 AS-Interface).
For this purpose the safety AS-Interface slave should be activated once a year, and its
switching properties should be checked by observing the safety output data of the AS-
Interface safety monitor.
