INSTALLATION

You should read the section entitled "Safety Information" before starting work on the actual
installation of the water purifier.

Where to install the RO 400

This water purifier can be installed in several different ways.
No matter which method you choose, there are certain
points which you should be careful to observe:
• The RO 400 weighs 33 kg. check that the load-bearing
surface is sufficiently sturdy.
• Ensure that the RO 400 is installed in the upright
position, directly onto the load-bearing surface, without
any support or fixings.
• The area where it is installed must have access to a cold
water supply, drainage and an easily-accessible earthed
electrical supply.
• It must be easy to inspect the control panel on the
appliance.
• There must be enough space for the front cover to be
opened and for good access to the filter containers.
• When choosing the site, ensure that there will be
adequate ventilation all around the appliance. There
must be a gap of 20 mm between the sides of the
RO 400 and any adjacent fittings or walls. The
connection points of the RO 400 allow you to route
hoses and cables in any direction out from the
appliance. The dimensions required for the installation
site are 250 x 480 x 490 mm (W x D x H), see Fig. A.
When installing the appliance, make sure that none of
the service connections get crushed or otherwise
damaged.

Applying the information panel

In the box of accessories you will find a sheet of self-
adhesive information panels in several languages. Select the
language required and apply the printed panel in a visible
location, though without it concealing any important
information on the front panel.

Electrical and plumbing connections

The illustration reproduced in Fig. B is also to be found on
the rear of the appliance, and it shows how the various
connections should be made.
The RO 400 is connected to the cold water supply
(temperature range 2 - 30 °C) via a polyethylene feed hose
(3). The feed pipe should have an easily-accessible valve for
shutting off the supply, see Fig. C on the next page. If the
appliance is being connected to new pipes or to pipes which
have been out of use for some time, the water should be
allowed to run for a while before connecting the hose. This
will prevent the appliance intake filter or the filters from
becoming blocked by sand or rust. The reject water is
