Traffic information on the FM
band (ARI)
Only applies to countries which
follow the ARI system.
Important: In countries which
do not broadcast traffic
information according to the
ARI- system, the INFO mode
should be switched off (No
INFO indication on the
display).
— This MCC car
radio/cassette player is
equipped with an SK/DK
decoder (SK =
Senderkennung (= transmitter
identification); DK =
Durchsagekennung (=
message identification)) for
traffic information.
This decoder identifies
transmitters on the U-FM band
which broadcast a pilot
frequency (SK signal) and
recognizes the DK signal
which is broadcast by the
transmitter.
— INFO mode: With the INFO
button the INFO mode is
switched on or off.
The switched-on mode is
indicated on the display by the
word INFO.
The INFO indicator lights up
when the radio is tuned in toa
transmitter which regularly
broadcasts traffic information.
If the light fades this implies
that you are outside the area of
coverage of the transmitter.
SK: To facilitate the search
for transmitters which give
traffic information, you depress
the INFO button, if necessary.
The display will show INFO. In
this case you will only receive
FM transmitters which
broadcast traffic information;
all other FM stations are being
muted.
DK: (in case of radio
reception) lf you only want to
receive traffic information, you
turn the volume control
counterclockwise (at minimum)
and the word 'INFO' remains
visible on the display. As soon
as traffic information is
broadcast, your car radio will
automatically switch to a
higher, preset sound level.
DK: (in case of cassette
playback) If you are playing a
cassette and you want the
playback interrupted for traffic
information, you should:
a) beforehand tune your car
radio in to a transmitter which
broadcasts traffic information
for the area you are driving in;
b) set the radio in the INFO
mode by depressing the INFO
button, if necessary.
When traffic information is
broadcast now, cassette
playback will be interrupted.
The unit automatically
switches to radio reception
