2. General

2.1 Intended use

WARNING
The Easys system must only be used if it is in perfect condition
and only for its intended purpose.
Operating safety is only guaranteed if the system is used for its
intended purpose!
The Easys system is intended for opening drawers in household
furniture. The system is operated with a safety extra low voltage
(SELV), which is generated by the original power supply unit
(included in delivery).
The system components do not have any special protection
against the penetration of water or foreign bodies and are the-
refore not suitable for operation in the open or in places where
exposure to water or heavy soiling is to be expected.
No liability will be accepted for any damage caused by improper
use or incorrect operation.
Easys must only be used under the following conditions:
• in dry rooms
• at a temperature ranging from 5 to 40°C, 10 - 80% r.h. non
condensing
• in conjunction with HETTICH brand AvanTech YOU, AvoriTech
drawer systems
Any other use is deemed to be improper and non-intended
use. The manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage
possibly occurring from any improper use. The manufacturer
bears no product liability. The risk is borne solely by the user.
Our liability is restricted to damage caused by improper use.
We shall not be liable for safety defects not yet identifiable
on the basis of the current state of the art.
Furthermore we are not liable for:
• violations against any safety advice
• violations against advice on particular hazards
• unauthorised modifications and alterations
• use of non genuine replacement parts
NOTE
Furniture opened by Easys must comply with the safety require-
ments for storage furniture in accordance with EN 14749 or EN
14073-74 or EN 16121.

2.2 Foreseeable incorrect use

WARNING
The following situations in particular are deemed to be foreseea-
ble hazardous situations:
• Using the Easys system in the open or at places where expo-
sure to water or heavy soiling is to be expected.
• Using the Easys system outside the temperature range of
between 5 to 40 °C, 10 - 80% r. h. non condensing.
• Using the Easys system with other pull-out systems.
• Using the Easys system in furniture or pieces of furniture out-
side the household environment or normal domestic installa-
tion environments.
• Using the Easys system with overloaded or jammed furniture
parts.
• Using the Easys system on furniture parts positioned opposite
to each other without a safety distance.
• Using the Easys system without an easily accessible or swit-
ched power socket.
• Using the Easys system in an environment where unsupervised
children are present.
• Use of the Easys system in an environment where persons are
present who, due to their physical, sensory or mental capabili-
ties, are unable to operate the Easys system in a safe manner.

2.3 Function

Easys provides electromechanical opening assistance for drawers
and pull-outs. Furniture parts opened by Easys are pushed for-
ward by an ejection pin in response to pulling or pressing on the
front panel. The system is only activated in response to briefly
pressing or pulling on the front panel; pressing on it for any
longer period, e.g. leaning on it, will not result in any opening.
