Mains Plug Replacement
(U.K. & Ireland Only)
If a new mains plug needs to be fitted:
• Safely dispose of the old plug.
• Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in
the plug.
• Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
WARNING: No connection is to be
made to the earth terminal.
Follow the fitting instructions supplied with good
quality plugs. Recommended fuse: 13 A.

Using an Extension Cable

If an extension cable is required, use an approved
extension cable suitable for the power input of this
tool (see technical data). The minimum conductor
size is 1 mm
; the maximum length is 30 m.

When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable
completely.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
injury, turn unit off and disconnect
machine from power source before
installing and removing accessories,
before adjusting or changing set-
ups or when making repairs. Be sure
the trigger switch is in the OFF position.
An accidental start-up can cause injury.
Fitting Sanding Sheets (fi g. B1, B2)
FITTING REGULAR SANDING SHEETS (FIG. B1)
1. Soften the sanding sheet by rubbing its
nonabrasive side over the edge of a worktop.
2 . Release both sanding sheet clamp knobs (5).
3 . Slide the sanding sheet under the sanding sheet
clamp (9).
4 . Engage the corresponding sanding paper clamp
knob (5).
5 . Stretch the sanding paper firmly over the
sanding pad (6) and repeat for the other clamp.

FITTING HOOK AND LOOP SANDING SHEETS (FIG. B2)
1. Fit the hook and loop sanding pad as described
below.
2 . Place the tool on a table, sanding pad (6) up.
3 . Place the sanding sheet directly on top of the
sanding pad.
4 . Hold the sanding pad (6) with one hand and
align the dust extraction holes (10).
5 . Press the sheet firmly onto the sanding pad.
Changing the Sanding Pad (fi g. C)
1. Place the tool on a table, sanding pad (6) up.
2 . Remove the screws (11) holding the sanding
pad to the base (12).
3 . Take the sanding pad from the base.
4 . Place the other sanding pad onto the base
aligning the screw holes.
5 . Replace the screws (11) and tighten them.
Adjusting the Front Handle (fi g. D)
The position of the front handle can be adjusted for
optimum control.
1. Loosen the knob (13) located in the centre of the
front grip (4).
2 . Take the handle from the tool and place it on
either mounting position.
3 . Make sure that the handle is placed correctly.
4 . Tighten the knob.
Setting the Electronic Speed Control

The speed is infinitely variable from
12,000–22,000 min
-1
using the electronic speed
control dial (3).
1 . Turn the electronic speed control dial to the
required level. The correct setting, however, is a
matter of experience.
2 . Generally, harder materials require a higher
setting.
Dust Extraction (fi g. E)
WARNING: Since woodworking with a
sander produces dust, always install a
dustbag designed in compliance with
the applicable directives regarding dust
emission.
