Control unit for smoke detectors
ABV(24)-S-300/D is intended for use together with smoke detectors
from the S65 and SDD... series.
The control unit supplies the connected detectors, handles smoke
alarms and continuously monitors the function of the detector loop.
The detectors are connected to the control unit using a two wire loop.
The loop is terminated with a termination resistor in the last detector.
Installation
Mount the controller on a DIN-rail.
Wiring
The control unit is wired to the detector through a two-wire current
loop. The loop is closed by connecting the supplied 2.2 k Ω end
resistor.
If the loop contains more than one detector the end resistor should be
mounted in the last detector in the loop. If the loop lacks an end resistor or
if there is more than one resistor, the control unit will give an alarm.
Wire the control unit according to the wiring diagram below:

Smoke alarm / loop malfunction
In the event of smoke alarm from a detector the red LED marked
ALARM will light up and the alarm relays will be activated. An alarm is
reset by pressing the button RESET on the control unit or by momen-
tarily cutting the power supply.
The smoke alarm is also activated if a short circuit or an open circuit
occurs in the detector loop.
Service alarm
Should a detector become so dirty that it needs service, the yellow
LED marked SERVICE will light up and the service alarm relay is
activated. Service alarm is reset automatically when the dirty detector
is cleaned and replaced again.
