vII. Cleaning and
maintenance
y When not using the device for an extended
period of time, remove the batteries. They could
corrode inside the device.
y Clean the glass of the laser outlet windows
using moistened tissues for reading glasses
or optical devices. Do not use standard paper
tissues or napkins, etc. which have abrasive
effects. This would damage the glass. Make
sure that there is no dust, fluff from textiles or
grease on the glass surfaces.
y If necessary, clean the plastic cover of the
device using a damp cloth dipped in a detergent
solution. Nevertheless, prevent liquids from
entering the device.
y For cleaning, never use organic solvents (e.g.
acetone) or abrasive or aggressive bleach-based
cleaning product as this could damage the cover
of the device.
y Never submerge the device in a liquid.
y When not using the device, store it in the sto-
rage compartment of the carry bag, protective
nylon case. Store and transport the device in the
carry bag and protect it against impacts.

y According to Directive (EU) 2012/19,
an unusable electrical appliance
must not be thrown out with communal waste,
but rather must be handed over for ecological
disposal at an electrical equipment collection
point because it contains components that are
hazardous to the environment. The battery
must be removed from the electrical equip-
ment, prior the equipment being handed over
for ecological disposal, at a battery collection
point separately (pursuant to Directive 2006/66
EC). You can find information about electrical
equipment waste and battery collection points
and collection conditions at your local town
council office or at your vendor.
y According to Directive 2006/66 EC, an unusable
battery must not be thrown out with communal
waste, but rather must be taken to a battery
collection point for ecological disposal because
it contains environmentally hazar-
